Forget climate change as that's too political now.

Energy security is a real issue and we all want secure energy supplies.
We all want clean air so cleaner fuels must be a good thing.
Water shortages are a big deal in large parts of the world.
The issue of how we're to feed an ever growing population is a real issue.

If we sort all of those out then climate change will also be helped.
 
it wasn't the gov. that started all the global warming stuff, they have just jumped on the bandwagon and used it to introduce taxes which are supposed to be environmental ones.

if yiu want a gov. blag then i give you 3 letters WMD

looking ahead i can see the 'child trust funds' turning out to be like some albanian pyramid scheme, it's certainly looking like that at the moment with the way stocks and shares have fallen.

privatisation..... everyone can be a shareholder, just expect to pay more for stuff in the future whilst the profits are creamed off by frenchmen, who then impose a tariff on a glass of water that makes it as expensive as Evian, but hey... you don't have to go to the shop for it..............YET !!.


Oil powered central heating..... then the price of oil went through the roof.


LPG......just waiting for them to hike the tax up on this stuff.


'speed cameras'........cash cows that in the main aren't anything to do with roadsafety.

'family values'.... whilst they are all getting wasted in the commons bar before doin' a lucky dip with the apt. keys.

salmonela in eggs...... never really figured out what that was all about really.

israel...... bad lids those arabs aren't they ? or maybe israel keep on aggravating them so much that they see what they do as the only option.


saddam.... bad lid/ good lid , the gov never really made their mind up on this one, it just depended who was in power in neighbouring iran.
 
welsh language..... it's never really existed, but hey it's givin' the welsh something to think about and learn, which is keeping them occupied whilst charlie and wills do a job on them. it's actually kosovan that they are learning and we are gonna fence the place off and stick all the kosovans there.

The fact that the Americans put a Jewish state right in the middle of the Muslim holy land. Is one of the most dispicable things in history...

What did they think was going to happen.


I know lets put a samali state right in the middle of L'pool city centre and see how we react......

To be fair the aftermath of WW2 was one big cock up.

Letting the Russians have eastern Europe.

Putting Israel where it was.

The partitioning of India and Pakistan.

All horrible messes that led to millions of lives being lost.

You know, I find the climate change debate all a bit strange. I have talked to people who believe 9/11 was a conspiracy and that we are run by a world government, and yet flat out believe the global warming theory with no suspicion at all :/. Personally I am very sceptical, especially since the U.N bases its predictions of what global warming is going to do on a students university thesis. :blink:
 
It wasn't so much that Nick as the partitioning of Palestine, thus creating a Jewish state and an Arab one. The partition was never accepted by the Palestinians but the UN went ahead anyway, with a war between Israel and the Arabs the very next year.

A similarly religious partitioning was done in India and Pakistan, again to horrible affect with the dislike between India and Pakistan still present today. It forced around 10 million people to move, and this incredible level of migration saw around half a million people killed in the process. It really beggars belief how ill thought out it was.

As for Russia, well the Cold War is fitting testament to how we screwed that up. The whole mess left behind after WW2 really takes any gloss that may be there from the 'winning' of it.
 
Yeah I know, but the way it sounds is that some country trying to play God - when the Israelites had been there centuries before.

Wonder if WW2 never happened, would we have any problems now?
