Take no notice mate, I always rated Hibbert as well. He might not have been much at getting forward, but doing what he was paid to do ‘defend’ there wasn’t many better, he was solid, not much got past him, he never whinged, just got on with his job, shame we’ve got a coward wearing the number 2 shirt at this moment in time.

..we’d be in trouble if he was one of our best. Hated it when we were so bad he used to get thrown up front.

He most certainly was one of our best !
Probably the best player from any club to never get an international cap.
If I remember correctly, he was generally thrown up front in the last 10 minutes as he started as a lad as a striker.
Imagine any of the current shambles trying to play CH, Mid , Or Cf. Not a chance.
I vaguely remember him scoring a diving header under Norman Hunter's boot.

Eggs - did we not come close to winning the league when Mick was playing for us ? So why should a club legend , who was willing to play in any position for us, and bled repeatedly for the club, not be included.
