Do they have a US version? Didn't know that

Thanks Sharpy, reminder is set =)

Its not funny at all. They try too hard to be, but they fail. This comment for the video sums it up:

"The sad thing is that you can tell these guys of Top Gear USA watch and are fans of the real Top Gear, because they try to copy the comments the real Top Gear hosts would make. I bet they are hoping to hit the audience that has not watched the original Top Gear. Bad news, the show is boring even when not in comparison. Give up History Channel."

Yea, I'm not totally sure I'd watch that =)

I used to love Top Gear, but it's the same old thing every time.

Richard Hammond's really annoying too.

I've really started to go off it too you know.

I just wish they'd review a Fiat Punto instead of crashing an oil tanker into a building or something.

That said, the Vietnam Special was a fantastic bit of television.

I don't either, Spike.

It's exactly the kind of thing that just doesn't translate. An American blowhard like Jeremy would just be unwatchable. It's not the way we do funny. I would think that the US version would have to go more gearhead, and not be slavishly imitative, which is what they are right now. It just doesn't work.

We don't name our corners, which just proves that we don't get it.

It's funny how the show has changed isn't it? The specials are the best thing about Top Gear by a million miles

It's just obviously staged/written/well rehearsed in the studio, James always talks about equations, Richard comes across like an idiot and Clarkson plays his usual smarmy self (he's a beaut, though).

The best bits are when they just actually review cars, like they used to with Tiff and Quentin.

I do love the cool wall, though.
