Unfortunately I haven't had many good memories of the derby and everytime it comes around its hard to get excited!

Best - Everton 3-0 Liverpool, Cahill and an Andy Johnson brace.

Worst - To many to choose from but Liverpool 3-0 Everton. Gerrard Hat Trick. Horrible rat.

Best 3: Carsley 1-0, Andy Johnson 3-0, Dan Gosling 1-0 FA Cup
Worst 3: McCalister last minute 3-2 at Goodison, FA Cup Semi Final in 2012, Gerrard hattrick 3-0, may have been a few days earlier.

Best. Carsley Derby. They rocked up cocky as anything and we sent them packing to go 12 points ahead of them. Martyn shut the door in Stevie Me’s face so often that day. Hadn’t beaten them for ages before that.

Worst:
08/09 season. I can take being battered in derbies when we’re crap but that year we were better than them in both yet lost both. Goodison especially they won 2-0 and had one shot on target. Mascherano with a huge deflection to go 1-0 then they just got battered with Reina and their usual luck keeping them in it. Kuyt with an undeserved second at the end on the break.

13/14 at home was annoying because again we should have caned them 4 or 5 and we didn’t finish and they scored three from 4 chances (nearly 4 with the Allen miss) all three set pieces.

..I think it was at the end of the ‘85 title winning season and we beat them 1-0 at Goodison. The title was already ours and the game was dreadful but it has always stuck in mind because it was role reversal. We were superior to them in every way, even though the likes of Rob Wakenshaw might have been playing. I think John Wark missed a penalty in the Park End that just seemed inevitable.

I watched the Derby’s from the early 60’s but I don’t think I ever felt as bad as when Gary McAllister scored that late 40 yard free kick, and i was at the Brian Hamilton disallowed goal semi final.

Rob Wakenshaw came on for Ian Atkins
Wark did miss a pen at the park end and we had Paul Wilkinson up front who scored the goal

...that’s the one. I was playing myself in those days but I got to that game, one of the few times I was in the Top Balcony. Warks penalty nearly killed a duck in Stanley Park. It was bizarre watching because I felt the result was never in doubt. Dreadful game but one that always stands out because we were top dogs in our city for that brief time.

the worst derby recently can over ever be the 4-0 at anfield in Martinez's last season, felt like crawling under a rock, the crowd doing OLE's whilst absolute crabs like lucas pinging balls everywhere, they had about 40 shots and that green teethed meth head klopp was sitting in the dugout just smirking away, well ye that was a horrid day

It felt like a testamonial match simply because it didnt matter to us we were the far superior team and knew it,not many times I have been able to say that but it was brilliant following a team that you felt was invincible

I used to hate the derbies when we would match them but Torres would be the difference.

However it still rankles how we should have held out in that 13/14 one. How good Deulofeu was and he must have fluffed two clear chances. Then old wriggly arms to make it 3 all.
