Hehe where would we be without them eh its not as "instant" to get into as football is i think you need(i know i did) nugdgeing towards liking it then as you say you fall in love with the game,my lads have been slow on the uptake but over the last 4 years or so its there,on the net looking for the scores etc so my new generation takes over hehe.

Now a Mr Botham you say..umm he had a fairly good career i seem to recall ;)

I said he was me fav' THAT day .

I remember me Da laffin' at me , saying , " He got Walters WITH A LONG HOP !!! I can bowl them !!! " Hahaha .

Ill tell you about the 81 Ashes before the end of the Series . Mad me Arl Fela , like .

Whilst you guys are talking about fast bowlers, I'm gonna put on my best LCAB-Oracula impersonation nad put a big shout out to a new quickie over here, Adam Milne.
Just played his first Twenty20 for New Zealand, the kid's 18 and about 70kg, bowling at 150kph (95mph?). Watched him play for CD (rep/county side) at Pukekura Park a couple of weeks ago, the boy's got wheels.
Very similar to Shane Bond in his action and temperment (coached by him too), he's gonna be special I think.
Got a bit of a pumping from the Pakistanis last night, but very, very impressive and if he stays fit could surpass Bond.
I always worry about them at that age,18-20 and being fast bowlers they have to be tended very carefully but it has to be said the kiwi's aint dim and they should look after him looking forward to seeing him (i've always had a soft spot for new zealand)

I hope they do, he went for a few runs last night and a few nights ago, they need to keep him in the squad, nurture him and teach him. Really good talent. Bowled a bouncer first ball to Shoaib Aktar, kid's got balls!

I lived about 100 yds max from Sir Richard when I lived in Christchurch.

Get Jeff Wilson on, won't be many that repeat his feat, didn't he get picked for basketball internationally as well ?

LOL yeah me dad wasnt keen on him either yet loved Gower,i was like you a Botham man myself,no i take that back i loved Bob Willis he was class, that hair, that run up his speed hell of a bowler.

Didnt really see the "explosive" stuff in '81 we went on i think the Friday before Botham wound up on the Saturday was it? with his ton at old trafford but watching headingly on that Monday and Tuesday was and is a favorite childhood memory,it was one of those you aint moving moments come the Tuesday and Willis took a wicket we literally sat in our places till it was all over no other TV event has ever made me do that unbelievable day.

Not sure he made the "Tall Blacks", really talented at bball though. Married to Adine Harper, ex NZ Netball captain. Their babies will be sporting genuises.
Wilson should have stuck to cricket, will always be remembered more over here for missing "that tackle" on Gregan.

Hadlee, apparently the biggest prick to stride the earth, but what a cricketer.

It's wonderful isn't it, the swagger is there plain to see, one of my favourite cricket photos.
