Clearly the mentality just isn't there....

Its all well and good believing you can hit every ball for 6, but 6 singles are worth just as much and less likely to lose your wicket

Absolutely, this is the point of test cricket but also, crucially, it takes longer and enables the team to bat for longer and have a level of control over when they are batting and bowling - crucial in day/night.

I'm all for a positive mindset (if that is what bazball can be classed as) but you have to be able to do the hard yards and punish balls that deserve it - see Australia for an example of still going at 5 an over with little risk.
 
Been a great stint from Boland here.

England been awful in this test match - Root hundred aside. Could have been an even bigger margin.

I thought the bowling attack have been appalling. Archer flatters to deceive for me.

If you can’t beat this Aussie side when they’re missing three of their four hit bowlers with a patched together opening partnership then they never will.

We literally play into there hands every time....

Bat sensible, take advantage of bad balls, then go big when they've got overs in the legs and hours in the field....

Said it after the first innings, we should have been looking at 400+ with the supposed talent available and the dismisalls
