Do you know what was funny? That time you said "With the Hell's Angels now".
There appears to be some crap on my screen.

I know, I'll get your mar to lick it off for me...

As the competition goes from strength to strength buoyed by near universal acclaim I can reveal that this month's avatar is none other than Joseph Williamson.

A resident of Liverpool in the early 1800s he was a wealthy philanthropist who used local workers to build decent housing in the city. When the housing project was complete he kept the workers on. Clearly deciding that idleness demeaned the dignity of their labour he set them to work on a number of apparently pointless and/or bizarre tasks. One such task involved the large scale excavation of the sandstone bedrock of the area to the east of where Paddy's Wigwam now stands. There is, apparently, a vast area of underground tunnels and caverns beautifully constructed with brick lined walls, ceilings and arches. The extent of the tunnelling is largely unknown as many areas remain unfinished and/or forgotten about and must be in a poor state of disrepair. Every now and again a Williamson tunnel is discovered inconveniently positioned where the foundations of a planned new building need to be. He did, by all accounts, cheese off the engineers planning the route of the Liverpool to Manchester railway also.

If you fancy finding out more there is a visitors centre on Smithdown Road and a guided tour is currently £4.50 for adults and £3 for kids

No winners this month. It's a rollover next time. Try to contain your excitement............
