Let's find out, once and for all, GOT's favourite action movie of all time.

I've drawn up a list of 16 of the greatest action movies ever and pitted them together in a knockout format competition.

Simple really - the film that gets the most votes progresses to the next round.

MATCH FOUR - RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD (STALLONE) vs. TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY (SCHWARZNEGGER)

RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD (1982)

First Blood is a colossal film. There's so much raw emotion and angst mixed in with the excellent violence and action that by the end of the film you identify so much with John Rambo that you forget that, on the surface of things, this film should have been a by the books Vietnam action affair.

What makes the film particularly magical is how it concludes - after all the violence, all the action, you have a man broken down by the horrors of what he's seen who delivers one of the definitive movie monologues of all time. For a brutal action movie to end on a psychological note deserves a lot of praise. How many action movies have the potential to move you to tears?!

TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY (1991)

The original Terminator movie was solid, but this is the one time when I can say without any doubt whatsoever that the sequel blew the original out of the water in every single department.

Schwarznegger excels in this role as a killing machine - mostly because acting as wooden as possible is what is called for! The action scenes are great, the car chases wonderful and the psychology of the film is also top drawer. An honourable mention for the T-1000, Robert Patrick, who was cast perfectly as the liquid metal villain for this flick.

And to this day, whenever I get a cup of coffee from a machine, I want to see the deck of cards pattern on the outside just to see what the bloody hell that was all about!

So who goes through to the next round - you decide!

The next four "fixtures" will be done tomorrow afternoon :)

T2 was the greatest thing I had ever seen at the time.

I was utterly underwhelmed by Rambo. Watching it again years later, I appreciated it a lot more.

But still. IT'S A F*CKING LIQUID ROBOT MAN!!!!

Basically we're just finding out how old people are here.

If you were about 14 when either of these came, they were probably the best thing ever.

I'm only 28 mate. I went back and watched all of these though. Makes no odds when they're released.

For example, my favourite film ever is White Heat, starring James Cagney from 1949. That's the beauty of cinema.

Of course, I'm obsessed with Hitchcock movies, and I normally hate old people.

I just think if you happened to be about 14 when either of these films came out, you'd be blown away.

Like I was with Terminator 2.
