GK: Pickford / ??? / Virginia
RB: ??? / Kenny
CB: Holgate / Mina / ??? / Gibson
LB: Digne / Baines
RM: ??? / Walcott
CM: Gomes / ??? / Gbamin / Davies
LM: Bernard / Iwobi
CF: Richarlison / DCL / Kean / Gordon

18 players out of a possible 23.

5 incomings...

If it’s going to be a tough window then definitely this, but keep Coleman & Lossl and go large on the CB, CM, RW.

Get those right and I think we’re onto something.

"Probably winning a trophy"

Firstly he will still have the same players that have failed to get near a trophy for the last few years.
Secondly everyone knows how he plays and unless he changes his style massively, he isnt going to win anything in the premier league.
Brands spoke in the AGM about his plan for a 25 man squad including one or two youth players.

Given the current economic climate we will not see many ins and outs. It isn’t financial limitation our end but we have to be concerned that we need to offload players in order to bring some in to free squad place. If rumours are to be believed there are only 5/6 clubs who will be able to spend this summer (we’re one of those clubs).

So, where do we look at (realistically).

In an ideal world I’d like to shift half of them including Keane, Walcott, Iwobi, Delph, MS etc but I don’t think that’ll happen.

GK: Pickford and Lossl (or new GK) and Virginia

RB : Coleman and Kenny
CB : Mina, Holgate, Keane, new CB (Gabriel?)
LB: Digne and Baines
CM : Gomes, Delph, Davies, Gbamin and New (who this is, I have no idea)
LM : Bernard and Gordon
RM: Iwobi (we would also have Richarlison who can cover either wing - so between Iwobi, Bernard and a new winger I think we would have apt cover)
AM : Sigurdsson (or a new AM if we move him on
CF: Richarlison, Kean, DCL and new

That would make up 25 with Walcott, MS, Niasse, Martina and Tosun all out the door.

Any thoughts?

Below I have altered your list a bit, added names for players we have been linked with and I think are mostly feasible; Bellotti, Allan and Gabriel are the only ones that would command transfer fees. We would still need to sell quite a few though, or get them out on loan. For me I dont see Gordon as being part of the squad that much and as he is under 21 we wouldn't need to count him in a 25 man squad. Also I dont think Iwobi can play on the right. That's a big problem area for us and has been for a while.

GK: Pickford and Foster and Virginia
RB : Coleman and Kenny
CB : Mina, Holgate, Keane, Gabriel
LB: Digne and Baines
CM : Gomes, Delph, Davies, Gbamin and Allan
LM : Bernard and Iwobi
RM: Fraser and Mertens
AM : Sigurdsson
CF: Richarlison, Kean, DCL and Bellotti

I'd be appalled by that window. A bunch of money tossed at the position we need to upgrade the least. A bunch of money tossed at guys who won't be any good 2-3 years from now. 4 wingers who all have played their best football at a position that isn't the right side. I can't see that team worrying anyone chasing Europe and in 3 years time we will be selling DCL and Richarlison as we've made no progress as a club.

Pickford + back up goalie +Virgina
Coleman + Kenny
Digne + Baines
Holgate, Gabriel, Mina and Gibson

Delph, Davies, Gbamin, Gomes and new midfielder
RW + Walcott
LW + Bernard or Iwobi+Gordon

DCL, Richarlison, Kean and back up striker

Getting rid of M Keane is purely because i feel we only need 3 senior centre backs plus Gibson.
Midfielder someone like Docoure or a cheaper version of Grealish
Wingers: James Rodriquez and Lozano

I'd like to see us go 3-4-3 it would suit a lot of our players and I think we could get away with just 5 signings. 3 for the team and 2 more for competition.

Pickford Lossl

Holgate Keane
Mina Xxxxxxx(15)
Xxxxxxx(4) Gibson

Kenny Coleman
Xxxxxxx(6) Gbamin
Gomes Delph
Digne Baines

Xxxxxxx(11) Xxxxxxx(10)
Calvert-Lewin Kean
Richarlison Bernard

Virginia Davies Iwobi Gordon

This would also gives the option of going 4-4-2, 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-3 by taking one of the CBs out and replacing with Bernard. It would mean keeping both Coleman and Baines for another season but there is more pressing issues. I would start the season with Kenny as first choice and if he hasn't impressed by the winter window bring a new RB in. Both the new CBs in an ideal world would be left footed as this would give us an equal split. The 2 right wingers would also be left footed ideally one a forward like Richarlison who can also play up front and the other like Bernard more of a midfielder. The CM would be someone with a bit of pace and power a bit like Vieira/Essein. I would then also keep the 4 underneath the teams and that would give us a 26 squad but we wouldn't need to name Virginia, Gibson, Gordon or Kean in the 25.

Looking at this list some serious moves need to be made this summer otherwise its just another season of aiming for 8th place

Schneiderlin Sigurdsson and Walcott £300k is disgusting... the Chinese league is our only hope there.
You can add Bolasie and Sandro to that and Besic is surely on 50k per week.

At least up to this Walcott, Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson have been involved with the team.

I simply cannot see us adding more high priced additions without moving on some of these highly paid players who are not wanted or needed, but, who will take them ?

It also shows that Steve Walsh should be walked out to the centre of Goodison once a year and pelted with hotdogs and warm carling until every last signing of his is removed from the club
