The “Gammon” debate

I think perhaps we ought to end our discussion here because we obviously aren't going to find any common ground. You obviously have painted a picture of me in your own head that is so far from reality as to be a work of fiction. I'll keep to my opinions, however much you find them at odds with your idea of the world, and you keep thinking the worst of people based on what you imagine they are thinking. Enjoy your life, I'm certainly enjoying mine. TTFN :bye:

See ya, gammon.

Yeah you clearly were never interested in what it means because you're still pushing this idea that it's an anti white term that somehow attempts to silence white peoples opinion.

You admit to not knowing what it means and then refuse to read up on what it means and yet you think you're qualified to say its nonsense. Incredible lol
I didn't want to continue with this nonsense but then I saw this:

And he obviously isn't talking to me.

Lol, he's a conservative trump supporter, of course he doesn't believe in white privilege. If you really want to go down this route I can just post countless videos of other black people saying it is a thing. Then what ? Do I win the argument because I found more black people saying its real ?

Ahh longers beat me to it.

Finding one post from one black man with pre-existent bias in his views due to his politics and occupation isn't doing anything, but at this point I think everyone knows the score with your stance Sarnia - you are what you are, you be you, but just expect people to call you out on the silly things you say and do.

@Sarnia Kevin

Give this a watch if you can be bothered, he gives several examples of white privilige (backed up with historical evidence) and is on a completely different planet to Brandon Tatum when its comes to knowledge/history.

Even if you don't want to hear the message he's giving its a genuinely interesting interview with an incredibly articulate and smart man.

Because you don't like his politics then he's quite obviously wrong? Okay lollol

This thread is absolute GOT gold, please don't ever end. Watching people argue online is the best therapy. lol

I watched the whole of that interview and found it very interesting. He is, as you say. very articulate and smart. However the only time he mentioned white privilege was a small snippet about Jamaica. What he did aver to mostly is what you could better describe as class privilege in that it's those people at the top, and government, who set the agenda and try to rule by dividing the country into the haves and the have nots (regardless of race/ethnicity) and in this they have the connivance of the media.
He also explicitly (about 36 minutes in) stated that the race problems in this country are completely different to those in the USA.

Anyway thanks for pointing me to the interview, as I say I found it very interesting, food for thought in fact.

There were a few references to it actually (although not directly) but yes it was more focussed on the UK where white privilege isn't as prevalent as the US (but still exists, white people in London don't need to worry about racial profiling from police for example) and yes it was also heavily focussed on class as well. Im glad you enjoyed it and we at least managed to find a bit of common ground in this thread.

Devils advocate here, but every slang at white peoples isn’t racist, but everything aimed at all other minority’s is racist or offensive?

A gammon is description of belief system predominately although not exclusive think Katy Hopkins of male rent a gobs who are of the political right and Brexit supporting, nothing to do with colour or sexuality for that matter. Only when quantifying a description of an indivdual. Gammon White sauce, Male of the right Brexit supporting and possible racist. Gammon Parsley sauce of the right Brexit supporting and of colour. Gammon Pineapple of the right Brexit supporting and Gay.
