There is another major reason why City’s dominance may not be as straightforward as you might think.

European governing body Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations mean all clubs must restrict their losses between 2013 and 2015 to just £38m. To put the size of that task into context City lost a staggering, record-breaking £194.9m in 2011.

They had a wage bill of £174m at that time and have since added more expensive players. The average weekly wage is now said to be £85,000.

There's no way they will be allowed to continue this. Hence they should celebrate now.

How long have people known about the financial fair play thing??

The city players may have a clause in their contracts saying the wages would be lowered after the first or second season in accordance to this rule, hence the silly wages, and might even offer an option to leave after 1 or 2 years if they say didn't win the league before 2012. Who knows? Awfully complicated footballer contracts.

I despise that club and the way they've purchased the title. It's a step beyond even what that rodent Abramovich did with Chelsea. A nothing club who laid some coin down on the table for 30 mercenaries to pick up.

Kid themselves all day and night if they like - they know deep down they're tainted. I refuse to acknowledge this title.

The History books dont lie, if big Abram had bought Kenwright out youd have jumped over the moon.

City could triple the price of tickets and Mansour pay 2/3 of the cost for the supporter.

Money into club.

There will be ridiculous things that will go on to get around this.

If UEFA is going to stamp down on any club under the financial fair play rules, it'll be City.
wont happen, the UEFA ffp small print says `cept if theyre moving in the right direction` so as long as they trim their spending a bit itll be business as usual

It's English football though, UEFA don't tend to give up an opportunity to put the English FA in their place, so unless they are getting massive bungs from the Sheikh, I think they are more likely to blitz City than someone like Real Madrid or Barcelona who are also haemorrhaging cash.

I think people are forgetting that they will have CL revenue, a title win, TV exposoure, sponsorship etc - i expect a huge dent in their losses next year, not to mention the new sports campus on the way. Its an interesting model it remains to be seen if the outlay can be recouped by ongoing increased revenue, dont forget they also have a few players out on loan they are still paying huge wages to.

Didn't Barca need to get a massive loan to pay wages not too long ago? Like in the region of £150m?

They will find a way around it like the record breaking sponsorship deal they announced with Etihad (I wonder whether there might have been any connections there? :dodgy:). UEFA are a bunch of pussies and will fold under pressure.

It's not fair but that's the way football is these days. Makes me sick.
