Manchester City have tonight released a statement on their official website announcing the suspension of Carlos Tevez with immediate effect.

The ban is thought to last a fortnight and reads in full:

Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.

The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.

Clearly, the club’s owners are lending their full support behind Mancini.

Mark Hughes on the panel was badly purring and clearly loving it. Bad Ted is Hughes - though that was cool tbf.

Hughes was coming across bitter, as though it wouldn't have happened if he was there. The man is an odious tool.

Teams like City, Chelsea, Barca/Real and the like take players whenever they want even when teams don't want to sell them and they aren't shy in using dirty tricks to get the players they want either. They aren't innocents held hostage and its nice to see it blow up in their faces once in a blue moon. Tevez went there for the money, City were happy to spend whatever it took, Carlos got all the money he needs and now doesn't want to play for team that he never wanted to play for in the 1st place. Good for him.
