I despised Lawson Edge, that replay plus the semi final against the RS a thalidomide goalkeeper would have made more effort to stop them goals,Dia the drop looked like he had just wandered on to the pitch after a session in the Hilda,Brand I only ever seen him in that one match, think it ended up 5-2?
Was the same game a gate seperating the fans had been accidently left open if i remember correctly
We only had two pens of the entire end, me and macca got into the empty one at the side of us expecting more Everton to show up, gave the Leeds fans loads of stick robbed a scarf of one they were going mad, we got put back with the blues but loads of older Leeds came through the gate with us, all sheepskin s and bovver boots, they looked a lot harder than they proved after there forth went in, hence the hostile reception outside.

First met Terry when I was 8 and in Alder Hey having my appendix out. August 78, It was the week Everton beat Wimbledon 8-0 in the cup. His son was on the same ward as me and dad being dad led to Terry spending as much time sat at my bedside, chatting all things Everton with the old man, as he did at his son's. A lovely fella.
What a lovely story

I think it bobbled just in front of him that night,I lay the blame fully at that no shouldered bellend Lawson, first 2 goals he was pathetic and that winning goal it goes across the 6 yard box at a trickle he stands watching it

I thought the winning goal came from a shot by the villa centre half, from about thirty five yards, or more.

pair of useless players, Lawson was rubbish only keeper worse was Davies, or maybe Drew Brand for his one game away to Leeds we got beat 5-2 which I had the misfortune to be at with about 400 other blues, riot after one of there goals, murder going back the coaches and the coppers kept us in the car park for an hour and a half, to clear the massed Leeds mobs outside, great going football those dayslol.
First away in car with mates, half of whom I did not know! Parked behind the Leeds end, got in stands where we stuck out like a sore thumb. Only Everton goal I ever missed was our second the consolation at the end because I had been dragged out by said mates who said come now or we are leaving you!!! They tore us to shreds that day. Duncan McKenzie was magic.

Solid defender , he put the wart in stalwart. Once saw him after a midweek first division game well after the match had finished waiting for his lift home with his sports bag ,as if he'd just played a game for his local. Top bloke.

How did we ever get beat when we had class acts like 'Herbie' Darracott and of course 'Tiger' 'John McLaughlan as full backs ?

'Tiger McLaughlan, what a character he was, I heard a story when he first came to Everton, his wife didn't know he'd signed for the Blues, took her about five weeks before she found out, she then came down to Liverpool, looking for him and the wages he hadn't paid her.

No that was their second, the winner was at the Stretford end
Jaycee is correct about the winner but Chris Nichol's goal was their first, equalising big bob's first half opener.
We led from Latchford first half, they scored two quickly around 80 mins then mock Lyons equalised for us into Stretford end cue the most amazing scenes. We threw it away in Extra time. Ok cross from their right our left looked like Darracott on from post would just clear it but he suddenly let it go, it went across face of goal to Brian Little to score.. 3.2 heartbreak. And that was with Clive Thomas still to come....and Rs won league I think and their first European cup!!!! OMG hard time to be a blue those few months.
Sunderland also relegated on last game of season at Goodison!!!
