The worst tackle I ever saw was Dave Mackay on Jimmy Husband at Goodison back in the early Seventies. He nearly put Jimmy into orbit and it more or less finished Jimmy's career off.
If anyone did it today he would get a lifetime ban. I can't remember but I don't think he even got booked.
