Teams known by a moniker from achievement

That was Bobby Robson. When he was asked why there were no Everton players in his England squad he said Everton were a team with no stars. A year or so later Gary Stevens, Peter Reid, Paul Bracewell and Trevor Steven all played in the same England team under Robson if memory serves me right.

Everyone in the Media = Robby Robson ?

There really should be a name retroactively applied to that 80s team. Arsenal with their Invincible's tag for one season when Everton in that four season period..............

That Arsenal team were called The Invincibles because they went all season unbeaten, which is quite an achievement, which will probably never be matched. its a title given to them because they WERE invincible. Why do people think the media have it in for us or dont give us the recognition. HKs team got plenty of recognition, and still does.

Going a season unbeaten is not as good as winning two titles and two cups.

My point though is these teams have their documentary underlining their achievements to the wider football audience and we dont.

You're right, it's not, but on its own, Going unbeaten in a season is a outstanding achievement, and one that is will rightly go down in history as such. They fully deserve such a title. They are called it because they were. No matter what they won in the years before or after they were invincible for a full season. That is some achievement.
Just look back at this thread and I haven't seen any of the Prem era Utd sides mentioned, Cloughs Forest teams (2 european cups) to name 2 off the top of my head. Not all great sides have a 'moniker'.
I'm pretty sure I've seen a Doc on Sky about HKs team. A team that I've seen regularly called 'the team of the 80's'.

No, there's no dedicated documentary on Sky/BT abut the Everton 1980s team. There's a Merseyside football rivalry one on BT, but nothing specific to Everton.

And this is quite apart from the 'moniker' attributed to some teams I brought up.

Just get Farhad to have a word with Jim White. I'm sure he'd sort it for his mate.

Hardly an achievement but - - -

I'm 46 mate and I've never seen us called that. Everyone in the media? Any Links to that?

Sorry been having a look but can't find anything. It was mostly radio talk as I remember (there was very little football on the telly at that time). To be fair I think the BBC commentator (Peter Jones?) spoke a bit about how stupid the description was.
