I think we need to get away from the idea of a first eleven.
We will see players rotated as the season progresses.
The aim is to bring players to the squad that won't weaken the team when they are brought in... we are a work in progress in that regard.

I think the opposition may dictate the players a manager picks on any given week.

Gray/McNeil - Calvert-Lewin - Gordon​

With everyone fit we suddenly have loads of options, particularly in defence & midfield. If 4-3-3 is ultimately the way forward then this would be my preferred XI for the season. In a 5-2-3/3-4-3 scenario then you'd imagine that one of the CM's gets sacrificed and one of Holgate/Godfrey would take the third CB spot (when fit, obvs). A 3-5-2 could also accommodate Maupay & Calvert-Lewin in a front two as another option.

Knew I would’ve forgotten someone!
Yeah I’d definitely have Doucoure as a more than good enough bench option for those CM roles and Townsend too if he’s not lost too much after another horrible injury. He was very decent last season Andros and a top bloke - got a lot of time for him.

Yeah Rondon can get in the bin.
