Player Valuation: £1.5m
Ok the international break is boring me to tears so I need something to talk about. So what is the best 11 Everton players YOU have seen play at goodison? I started going the game in the early 90's (remember the junior Evertonian cards that got you in for a fiver!). So yeah I got to watch a lot of turgent ****e for most of the 1st 10 years and missed out on the glory years in the 80's. However I still think my best 11 below would be a match for anyone. GK Southall. LB Baines. RB Jackson. CB Weir. CB Jags. RM Kanchelskis. LM Pienaar. CM Felliani. CM Arteta CF Fergerson. CF Jelavic. No cheating, only players you have watched, pick your own formation, I went with 442 for for simplicity.

GK 1 Wales Neville Southall
RB 2 England Gary Stevens
LB 3 Wales Pat Van Den Hauwe
CB 4 Wales Kevin Ratcliffe (c)
CB 5 England Derek Mountfield
CM 6 England Peter Reid
RM 7 England Trevor Steven
CF 8 England Graeme Sharp
CF 9 Scotland Andy Gray
CM 10 Scotland Paul Bracewell
LM 11 Republic of Ireland Kevin Sheedy

No doubt I am missing loads but off the top of my head. I wanted to include Hinchcliffe at left back but Baines is ridiculously good.

Same, wanted Hinchcliffe but couldn't. Was my favourite when I was a young fella. He was Beckham before Beckham was Beckham. Crossingly speaking.

Could you make an argument that Baines has more to his game than phsyco Pat? I am probably not qualified to answer like, maybe someone a bit older can have a go?

As you can tell i am only young and only been going to Goodison for around 7 years i still think on its day this team could give a beating

haha, i had virtually the same team in my head, can't think of too many RB's so jackson probs would take it, would be tempted to put baines and unsworth in so one would go RB out of position. in CB i would have Stubbs and distin, too hard too choose

Team with a twist, would have been good to see. Couldn't leave Baines/Pienaar combo out.

Southall
Stevens, Lescott, Ratcliffe, Baines
Kanchelskis, Arteta, Reid, Sheedy
Rooney, Ferguson.

(Baines is by far the best left back I've ever seen at Goodison, and is streets ahead of Pat VDH, good as he was. We should treasure him while we can.)

Different eras, different styles.

I would put them on a par I suppose, clearly Baines is slightly better going forward.

Martyn

Fellaini
Cahill
Arteta

Rooney
Jelavic

Subs:
Howard

Arteta was boss on the wing for his first couple of seasons, and we've had no one else who's been that good there recently so he's in out wide. Southall and Kanchelskis would be in there as well as possibly Olly Dacourt and Anders Limpar but I'm too young to remember them.
