With the current lack of transfer activity and with Peanuts recent snub of a contract and his desire to play champions league football, does anyone else think that a lack of signing will have a massive effect on the current squads morale.

To be frank I'm a little worried our best
Players (cahill, arteta, jags) could opt out if they see no improvement to our current situation. Anyone else on the same page?

Very worried indeed. I've said it before, why should the players, or even David Moyes for thast matter, give a damn if the club doesn't share their ambition?

If Moyes somehow improves the squad dramatically before then I reckon he would stay. But i agree he will go if not.

I also wonder if our lack of activity and signing is another reason we can't attract quality players? Personally I wouldn't wanna go to a club that I knew kept basically the same squad for two seasons with no improvement.

Not concerned about transfers at all, they will come, would be nice dont get me wrong, but priority no 1 is keeping the current squad together once that happens im not worried.

Nope. Not from me anyway.

Cahill - Will only leave us to go back home to finish his career there.

Jag's - Will not leave - Ever

Arteta - Will excel this year and make it into the Spain squad for the world cup.

And Pienaar has already said he is staying, and not to worry. he will be playing Champs league with us next season. Hardly anyone takes the first contract offered to them anyway.

Depends what happens in the next few weeks. They seemed ok in the States. But if they start the season more players down than we ended last season then you couldn't really blame players for looking around them and wondering where the forward momentum is. Neville's comments yesterday 'looking to build a football club not just a football team' is one of those frustrated diplomatic comments made when **** all is happening when it should be. He'll be a manager before too long. Or an MP.

i was worried about the pienaar thing with the preseason game... seemed a bit convenient that this "injury" came out of nowhere right after negotiations broke down. still he's got a year left on contract so you're probably right
