@Sporting Billy in the Liverpool Closed 2 of my club mates have just knocked out the no1 seeds in the doubles Rhys Davies and Matthew Westwood to make the final. To put it into context Rhys is ranked no 4 U21 men's and no15 senior men's in England. An incredible achievement.

Finals are at Crosby High School on Wednesday if anyone wants to see some top class sport for free.

Too bad I don’t live near Crosby High School or I would be there.

Excellent. Who’s the favourite to win it these days? My brother, who’s far better than me, won it a couple of times in the 1980’s, maybe early 90’s.Who do you play for in Liverpool?

Actually, just texted him. He won it once. Beat Chris Ford in the final and lost in another final to Wayne Percival

Great player still , Wayne Percival. Your brother must be a top player just to get to the final very high standard.
Rhys Davies will win the men's singles probably play Richie Venner or Kev Dolder in the final.
I don't play I Liverpool anymore - toomuch travel from West Lancs - but my clu has a lot of players who play for Bath Street

I don’t know Rhys or Richie. I know Dolder though. My brother was one of the top players around back in the day. Last match I played in Liverpool, about 3 years ago was at Bath St. can’t remember if I was playing for them or against them ?. It was a one off. I know Keith Williams beat me

Semi finals are Rhys v Jonathan Taylor and Westwood v Thomas Haddley.
