this era was all a bit too poncy round our way, i was about 14-15, a lot at school were still punks (and those guys still are), we'd all got into acdc and motorhead etc then after that for me the only synths worth listening to were of germanic extraction and the sort you did windmills to, the new romantic phase didn't really exist on the pitface and it was more likely that if you could get in the casino at wigin then you would, failing that it was the roller rink for the same music...on wheels. the next electro music to make an impact involved copious amounts of mind bending errrrrrrr lights and stuff, which is what made guru josh seem ok at the time. of course there was the joshua tree in between as well.
