i really wish martinez would do the same for jagielka! distin's 37, we all knew it was around the corner. i really think that was his first terrible game of the season as well and he wasn't as bad as what was made out - everyone was terrible that night. but jagielka's performances, especially chelsea have been worse than distin's this season and has less of an excuse.

howard's been worse than both of them though, i'd be ripping my hair out at him if i was manager,

He's been a good player for us. Rarely made a boob and when he did he held his hands up.

I like the fella but I think he's a spent force now. I don't even think he'll drop divisions, he's lost all pace, which was never in abundance anyway sadly. Jags and Stones should start when fit.

Fair point although we have been fairly clinical at scoring the few chances we make, our Goals For is not much different than last year.

However we have already let in 27 goals, only two teams in the league have let in more. Distin isn't responsible for the majority of them but he has been erratic.

Its not Distins fault we got smashed yesterday, he clearly didnt help, but neither did 9 other players on the pitch(Besic, DUH) and the utter bell standing on the touchline with the shet covered shoes.

I agree mate. The only thing I will say in Jag's defence is that he looks fine alongside Stones. I don't think he has any confidence alongside Distin anymore, although it's probably the same vice versa!

Completely agree about Howard, he's a joke. Only makes saves when we're miles ahead, and literally never keeps us in a game (and it has always been the case!). When you consider that Liverpool got rid of Rein, and we still have Howard, it is mind boggling. Probably the most average goalkeeper to have lasted at a top team in my memory.
