I don't see why it should be Howards last season. Wasn't that long ago he was beasting it in the world cup, and yea he flaps at some [Poor language removed] this year but damn - our defence has been shocking! Howard is always mr reliable when we have a solid backline.

You'll all eat your words :) come on timmy

You've defo jinxed it for him today now.

Looks like he'll be straight back in the team v Newcastle due to injuries, hahaha. Some punishment for being awful.

Is he putting some voodoo hex on the rest of our centre halves or what? Every time you think you've finally seen the last of the banana heeled clown, we get not one, but two more centre halves injured? I think seeing him the starting lineup at Newcastle might just tip me over the edge...at least the away end is nice and high up there....

Some of the comments in this thread make me cringe.

Soon as a player starts performing badly some of you are right quick to stick the knife in, yet you expect absolute loyalty the other way.

Is stones out for that match?

Personally would have alcaraz and stones at the back only use distin in the cups or as a very last resort

Okay, Ill sit here clapping like a sea lion like the uberfan I should be. He has been diabolical, to the extent that no professional footballer should be, making mistakes that schoolboys dont make, never mind veteran pro players. If I was as bad at my job for the last 6 months as he's been, I wouldnt still be there.

Amazing the stick he gets.

He's been our most consistent CB since signing for us 5 and a half years ago. Has a bad half season -- like almost everyone in the team -- and he is mercilessly hung out to dry.

Meanwhile others get away with it. As I've mentioned before, he's statistically been better than Jags this season. The man captaining the most spineless Everton team I've seen in yonks. And yet, even on a day where he didn't play, he's getting stick.
