Sylvain Distin 'confronts' fan

Somebody was saying he took his gold watch/bracelet off and wanted to throw it into the fans but the steward wouldn't let him.

I guess that wasn't the case then...

I hope Osman hasn't got a twitter account....imagine the abuse he would get! If he ever read what's written about him on here (some rightly) he would quit the game!!

Hope Distin meets him away from the ground and gives him a slap.

Sorry can't condone any player violence towards any fan. The big fella would be much better off donning his cap and nipping round to deliver some milk to the soft gets missus whilst he's at work - if you know what I mean !

Sorry but that's nonsense. There's no need for anyone to suffer abuse, regardless of the medium. Distin isn't the problem here whatsoever.

Twitter by the very nature of it draws out the idiots and trolls mate, all he has done here is make a story out of a nothing and do exactly what whoever tweeted wanted him to do. Pure simple fact is it could have been absolutely anyone tweeting from anywhere and he's just reacted without thinking how it'd look, completely different to if he was getting abuse and saw it, its all interwebz crap

dont really understand this twitter ollocks..only just about able to post on this site really...however sounds like a wind up to me because...first of all you wouldnt want to take distan on...secondly why did he not check with the club sec to see if the guy even existed and if so make a complaint if he felt hurt by it..and thirdly hes hardly joey barton with 3 mill lunatic followers im sure...the guy is a gentleman and a great supporter of local charities as well..still any sportsman/celebrity who joins this twiitter society of ours also puts themselves up for a certain amount of acceptable abuse....wonder how many aldo gets a day for instance...

I've been on Twitter for a few years now, and use it extensively in a professional capacity. In all of that time I've never once received any abuse on it. It shouldn't be regarded as a given, and I strongly suspect that were it to happen then it would quickly get stamped out by members of my professional community, as it's not the right way to behave.

Of course, you could argue that you shouldn't feed trolls, but it would be nice if people think a little before hitting the send button sometimes. There's a person at the other end. Plus of course, I don't like the attitude that because you've bought a ticket to the game that this gives you carte blanche to abuse the players as much as you like. It doesn't. Not at all.
