Swearing Warnings?

Where is that from? Looks very small writing to me and not given to us when buying our season tickets so it’s not part of the contract.

Like i say, I don’t do any of these things but i am just pointing out the problematic nature of what the club could cause if they went too far with this beyond just rightly using it for discriminatory language

11) The use of threatening, foul or abusive language or behaviour is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Stadium. The Club may impose a ban for one or more matches and/or the removal of season ticket(s) and/or Club membership for any such behaviour.

12) Racial, homophobic or discriminatory abuse, chanting or harassment is strictly forbidden and will result in arrest and/or ejection from the Stadium. Any person receiving an Official Caution or found guilty in a Court of Law of an offence involving racist behaviour or abuse against any spectator, official or player will be banned for an indefinite period from all future football matches at the Stadium.

I still find it hard to believe that swearing in itself would be enough to warrant warnings. I would've got a warning day one if it was. I truly believe that its aimed at the people who utterly lose it at times and explode with rage and venom, with spit and froth coming from to the point that those around them are concerned for the person mental wellbeing. I also think there's a chance that the warning signs have been put on the wrong seats or that the club have actually just popped them at random spots at the ground hoping that it would lead to the kind of discussions we're having right now. Either way, this is nonsense. The only place in the whole ground where people should be expected to moderate their language would be in the family section.

There's a clear difference between "FFS Everton" and "FO you tw#t, you FN C***" repeatedly as loud as you can.
There'll be varying shades in between and beyond no doubt.
I'd be fairly confident people getting warnings re swearing won't be simply saying/singing "FFS Everton" or "The referees a w⚓️", "we don't care what the RS say" etc.
I don't think "FFS" is classed as swearing anymore.
Its classed as "Evertonian English"

where I am, I haven’t heard anything
So? Just because you haven’t heard it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
All they need to do if have stewards who warn people about behaviour when it crosses line. If steward warns somebody about behaviour and they carry on and get kicked out. Fine.
Agree, that’s a logical step. But how does it work in practice? Someone goes over to a steward who then has to confront so frouthing mouthed racist who’s bladdered? Who’s throwing their hat in the ring for that job? Hardly getting paid danger money are they.

The yellow cards that are going around, I know for a fact, are put out when racist language is reported. As I’ve reported it myself in the past.

It’s absolutely bizarre the lengths people are going to here to be offended by this. When someone reports racist language, the club put these signs around the area as a first step. Why? Because it’s he said, she said if a fan reports it. Also, can any fan be 100% sure they’re reporting the correct seat number etc.

Once the cards are out; the club have police and stewards sat in the area listening out and trying to pinpoint the culprit.

No one has had their season ticket removed for telling Dwight McNeil to f-off and no one will. Stop creating faux outrage.

Did you not read what I said?

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, I know it of course does.

I’m saying I have seen these yellow cards on seats in my row 2-3 away from mine, also in the row directly behind and in front of my seat, and I can categorically state I have not heard any racism or homophobia from anyone in those areas around me, else I would have challenged it and reported it myself.

I HAVE heard just “normal” matchday swearing - lots of Koffs/sakes/maybe even the occasional c-bomb, especially related to the ref performance, as in cheating/useless cnut.

From my experience and perspective, the issuing of these cards at BMD has been totally over the top.

Again, unless you’re Spider-Man and can literally listen to everything around you while watching the match, you can’t say it hasn’t happened.

The club have responded to something. Again, no one will get their season ticket removed for general swearing. Ridiculous to even make that connection.

If the club didn’t respond to people raising these issues, people would moan that they’re not doing anything to tackle discriminatory behaviour.

Which stand are you in, out of interest?

Politely, that’s Boll**ks.

There’s no racism or homophobia going on near me, fair bit of swearing, absolutley - it’s the footy!

Thanks.

West stand upper, but near to the corner of the north and west, on the river side.
I do wonder if the club is given too much ‘credit’ for the rationale behind these cards / stickers.
I wondered if the West Stand might be a bit more targeted in general just because of the proximity to the corporate offering. Maybe rather than there being ‘problem’ areas or seats they’ve just lashed a load of them out almost at random. I mean they’re the left overs from GP after all so there’s not been that much though put into this i would assume.

I noticed he said it was because of racism and he knew it as a fact based on one incident in the past haha. If there was that much racism going on in the new stadium I imagine the press would be all over it.
