Suspensions a blessing in disguise?

Player Valuation: £40m
Fellaini and Pienaar will have had 4 weeks off from Everton duty when they're next available to play against QPR on 13th April. Fella did play the full 90 minutes for Belgium away in Macedonia but only came on as a last-minute sub for the return game. Given that they've both played 33 games in all competitions so far this season, it could have been a timely opportunity for the pair to recharge their batteries ready for the final push.

The other blessing might be that Moyes has decided to play with wing-backs in their absence. Anything that makes us a bit less predictable has got to be a positive and maybe he wouldn't have attempted it if everybody was available. The switch could potentially give both Heitinga and Duffy hope that they have a future at the club.

And finally, as often happens with our small squad, when we lose key men the responsibility falls on to somebody else and they generally rise to the challenge. In the past it has been Osman but this time it looks like Mirallas has seized the initiative to be our spark.

Interesting way of looking at it but really we want our best players available against the teams above us in the league. It would have been good to see how Pienaar got on at WHL as he would have felt that he had something to prove to their fans.

Given how key this next game is, I doubt it.

Ideally QPR at home would be the next game but, without Fellaini and Pienaar, Moyes is likely to put more thought into our set up and challenge the players who come in to impress him. Missing those two we know that we're likely to be up against it and hopefully everybody will raise their game to compensate.

That could have gone either way though. He might have tried too hard, got himself in trouble with more over-enthusiastic tackling or let the crowd get to him.

Fellaini being out against Stoke was a blessing in disguise as it forced Moyes to change the system instead of attaching him to the big grock defenders they have.

However, it's not going to be the case against Spurs. We could miss Felli and Pienaar massively.

I think the international break was enough rest for both. Not playing for a month could mean both come back rusty.

Not at all. Given the run in we need everyone and more if we are to realise our full potential THIS season

For me it's definitely a blow not having either of them fit. However, I still think we do have a strong team without them and do have enough to win the game.

We missed Pienaar more than Fellaini against Stoke as we lacked a bit of guile in the final third but it will prob be the other way around against Spurs.

Not so sure to be honest, with Pienaar retiring he had 2 weeks off anyway and Felli's young enough to cope, Spurs is now our biggest game of the season an we need a full team its a genuine win or bust for us, we win we go 3 pts behind and the GD will be almost identical and they have City and Chelsea back to back after that, lose and it 9pts they won't be caught by us leaving us chasing Arsenal who could go 5 clear and Chelsea who could go 7 both gaps will be too big, couple that with the fact that the RS are likely to beat the West Ham and go above us and we will all feel miserable.

We must FOOKIN turn up
