Look at the one to the right of where you have highlighted. They've cleverly made them opaque so you can't really see them in the image, but concrete doesn't quite work like that!

Interesting stadium concept - mentions Everton as a potential target for the design, so thought it was relevant. What do you reckon to this - personally think it would make an absolute bearpit of an atmosphere!

(Not sure whether to cut and paste article in?)
They look behind the seats to me. Especially as you will be looking down due to the steepness anyway, I don't believe they would come into play.Look at the one to the right of where you have highlighted. Some do, some don't. Anyway, I think the original comment about obstructed views was tongue firmly in cheek. They look like they sit behind each tier and support from the rear, and curve up with the outer shell
Yes please. Different from any other stadium, fans are close to the pitch, perfect views regardless of where you sit, and it won't look boring inside
Don't think there's a stadium in the world where the kid in row K will have a perfect view if the grock in row J stands up in front of him.If people stand up. Are sight lines at the back of each tier perfect?
I'm talking about reality of a match experience here.
I'm concerned we don't all opt for a 'white elephant'
Which appears good in concept but practical reality shows otherwise.
People do not sit for 90 minutes!
It's a rugby stadium
I have a big issue with this. @The Esk
If the tiers are too close together
When people stand up back rows will be unable to see as currently happens in lower bullens and in an field away stand.
Are people guaranteed sight lines even if people stand up?![]()
The goal end stand doesn't really utilise the major design factor of this stadium. Apart from the fact it gets slightly steeper towards the top of the stand, it isn't much different from any other single-tier stand. It doesn't need to have tiers though, it's the concept of the wave design which has benefits of a 50m view for 97% of the crowd and the ability to fit into a smaller footprint.
The concept drawing gives the option of the tier's, but in reality you could have that goal end stand around the entire pitch.
It's a cracking idea
If it's on the waterfront you could look through the hole and marvel at the beauty of The Wirral though during breaks in play.
Be fantastic.
Killjoy.Sorry, have also posted this in the new stadium in months thread.
This whole thing strikes me as an Architectural student project. After looking at this a little closer with a learned colleague, there's loads wrong with it and it just wouldn't work, or pass planning/safety certificates. For a small example, the highest recommended rake on a tier is 37.5°. The ones at the top there seem to be more like 60°. Also, recommendations state that there should be equal square meterage for the concourse as there is for the seating is serves so as to maintain the density at full capacity, not allowing for concourse refreshment stalls etc. It looks to me on that image that no concourse at all has been allowed for the upper tiers, so you'd have to go downstairs to what will be a HUGE ground floor concourse. Outside of all this, you have to also consider the view. That upper tier will be akin to looking out of a 12 story window of an office block. The people with a window seat would be able to see the pitch, maybe not the 1st meter of it, but certainly most of it, however the person behind them would see all but about the first 5m, then the person behind that all but the first 12, you can see where I'm going with this.
This stadium idea is a non-starter.
