I suppose I ought to have a go at an ode..

Some saviours are found in straw mangers
Our's came to us via Rangers
Where he played with our Jela
That unlucky fella....

And the dish ran away with the spoon

(I was stuck for a rhyme there, Lurkio)

In my opinion he hasn't been resurrected, just unappreciated. It's as though a couple of goals have removed the scales from the eyes of his distractors. It's been a toss up for a while who my favourite player is. It was always Jags, then it was Stevie P. Now it's a toss up between (and I'm trying hard here to think of something along the old, Villa, Young Barry Milner - but failing miserably) Seamus, GB (God bless it/him) and Supersmith.

haha oh come on mate, he was turd before he scored that goal, if vellios comes of the bench and scores tomorrow is he suddenly the answer to lukaku? Evertonians are Bi Polar when it comes to players

I wasn't the one who was saying he's suddenly come good. I have always liked the way he played. He nearly always wins headers, he holds the ball up well, never gives up and never complained when Moyes played him as a wide man when his best position is striker or behind the striker. However, if I offend you by my choice of favourite players then I offer my unreserved apologies and shall forthwith strip to the waist and beat myself to a bloody pulp with a giant Toblerone laced with razor blades.

On the other hand I'll simply put it down to sheer ignorance :dodgy:

When I find myself in times of trouble,
Our wee Naisy comes to me,
"Play me as a striker,"
"Then you'll see"

And in an hour of darkness,
He is sitting there beside of me,
"I will be the answer"
"Let it be"

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
"I will be the answer"
"Let it be"

And all the broken-hearted people
Sitting in the ground agree
"Naisy is the answer"
"See him free"
Set him free, set him free, set him free, oh set him free
"Naisy is the answer"
"Set him free"

How I would love to hear that sung at White Hart Lane today. I guess a lot of us were broken-hearted after going behind against Villa - especially after what happened across the park. Regardless of anything it was Super who lifted the gloom, much like it was he who got the winner against Chelsea - and don't forget Jela's part in that goal either. I think some of us have short memories. Maybe it's just the throw-away society we live in.

That said, I was sorting through my late father-in-law's collection and came across this...

So goodbye Jelavic road
Where the dogs of war used to howl
You can't plant me in your alehouse
I'm going back to my plough

Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for titbits like you on the ground

Didn't Elton sing that a funeral ?...oops...my bad

Some people just love a whipping boy unfortunately.....they also like to chuck ale around singing let's go f'ing mental, and like setting off pyro's....boss lids.
Some of us just appreciate players contribution - they can't all be Ross Barkley alas.

I fear McGeady may take the mantle despite him being a very good team player.

I'll offer you Dinyar Biliyaletdinov.....great technique but didn't smash anyone = whipping boy.

Under RM he would have been top notch.
