Superman is Coming Back to the Big Screen, With Batman
By SANDY COHEN | Saturday, Jul 20, 2013 | Updated 6:18 PM EDT

Superman is coming back and he'll have a caped co-star.

"Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder announced Saturday at San Diego's Comic-Con that he was making another Superman film and that it will include Batman — the first time the two superheroes will be united on the big screen.

He declined to reveal many details, saying the script is just being written. He then invited an actor onstage to read a passage to hint at the story line.

"I am the man who beat you," read Harry Lennox, before an image of the Superman logo, backed by the Batman symbol, flashed on the screen.

Warner Bros. then confirmed the first-ever pairing in a statement.

Snyder reimagined Superman in his June blockbuster "Man of Steel," starring Henry Cavill and Amy Adams, which has grossed more than $630 million worldwide.

Nolan should definitely make this.

I was surprised after reading quite a few comics how intertwined the two are in the DC World.

Bruce Wayne owns the Daily Planet, and is smart enough to get the best of Superman regularly. I'm pretty sure Superman gave Batman a Kryptonite ring as to keep him in check if he ever turned bad.

That Batman logo looks very much like the Frank Miller 'Dark Knight Returns' logo, where Batman beat Superman in a fistfight by out-thinking him. Bloody good story that was.

I'm glad they're moving away from the Nolan-verse. I still like the logo that was floating around for Batman Vs Superman years ago, this one is similar but not as good IMO.

Who could be the next batman?

Richard Armitage and Jon Hamm are decent shouts I reckon.

I think he should be of the same age as Supes, so popping my casting hat on first i'd look at

Joseph Gordon Levitt
Jake Gylenhall
Taylor Kinney
Trevor Donovan
Justin Hartley
Matt Bomer
Sam Worthington
Matthew Settle

I'd rather they'd of done a Justice League film. They would only need to add Flash, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan). Its not like anyone wouldn't know their back story and I think I would be a much better film. This film also explains why DC have started a Batman-Superman team up comic. Is anyone interested in the upcomming Justice League Dark film, which should be out next summer?
