Sunderland v Everton.

Yes, he just hasn't got the ability to be a player for a club aiming to break into the top four.

People go on about his tackling, but he only makes these kind of tackles - last ditch - because of his indecision before that to collect the ball or let the player get past him.

arse gravy.

unfortunate to be so blunt, but thats codswallop. recently jags has rightly earned rave reviews for his capacity to bail us out at the last second, hibbert has been the same on countless occasion before.

one of our best defenders, he would be dynamite if he was as good going forward. in fact, if he was, he probably wouldnt be an everton player now.

I wouldnt' have ago at Hibbert so much if it didnt mean having Neville in midfield.

Spot on, I really think thats a big part of it for most Evertonians. I could handle Hibbo playing at the back if we didnt have to stick P Nev in the centre of the park with Carsley.
Obviously in the summer we need to improve at RB to someone who can get down the flank and whip some crosses in aswell as defend, but i would be able to handle hibbo there this season if we could play skillfull attacking midfielders at the same time.

Bill thats a bit unfair people have had a dig fairly at Hibbert because he had been very poor at the start of the season- he is only now playing anywhere near his best.

It is a tricky one though as Im the same as everyone- Neville is our captain so will play whatever happens, I would much rather he played at the back than in midfield. Which means arl Tone has to make way?!

Its that stubborness that is gonna cost us. As a true club captain Neville should be man enough to recognise his faults and offer to be dropped for the good of the team, or Moyes needs to drop the buddy act and leave Neville out because he is not good enough at anywhere other than right back. And some would say he isn't good enough there either.

Captain or no captain, if he aint good enough he shouldn't be shoehorned into the team. Surely Moyes is not that blinded that he fails to see what pretty much everyone else can, and that is Phil Neville does more harm with his god awful passing then he does good with his Captain attitude.

That's bullocks, if he could attack, he still shouldnt be playing for a top 6 team.

He can't defend that well anyways, his positioning sense is awful, really bad, and his decision making is terrible (remember the derby, twice he was caught out because of an in-decision whether to collect the ball first time or let is bounce), he doesnt have pace, not enough to cope with most premiership wingers, petrov rarely ran at Hibbert, and utilised his pace.

He's got a good sliding tackle and get's the blocks in, but it was his fault in the first place usually that he had to make this last gasp tackle.

He's not a terrible RB but he's defo not good enough for us anymore.

he has more pace than neville and i also think more than jagielka.

that he was often covering for weir and stubbs. or covering for yobo when he was covering weir or stubbs shows an ability for team effort.

so who would you make captain?

Yobo, Jags, Howard or Carsley to name but 4. Not saying they'd be better captains than Phil but fact is he is a weak link and surely if your captain is a crap player you drop him and give someone else the armband rather than accomdating the captain just for the sake of it.

That tackle on pienaar was horrible, but the FA cant do anything can they because he got booked?

that kick on arteta was [Poor language removed] too

pienaars skill allowed him to avoid serious injury from that assault.

that he pirouetted in such a fashion to transfer the energy of the assault into a spin saved his shin.

that sunderland player has a destiny with fate.

I winced and felt sick seeing that over the top assault (couldn't call it a tackle). I wonder if Sep Blatter saw it as well, arsewipe. Incredibly Sky's post match studio comments with Ian Dowie didn't even mention it, unbelievable(n)(n)

Bardsley struck Pienarr EXACTLY where Taylor struck Eduardo. Pienarr is a very very lucky fella.
Anyway, I though Jags was great today. Threw himself at every shot, and Howard also, magnificent, so confident and solid in claiming crosses and high balls into the box. Pulled off a magnificent save from Reid's free-kick to preserve the points too.

If Roy Keane was any kind of man he'd fine and suspend that shithouse Bardsley for that tackle because we all know that the fa will do [Poor language removed] all about it.

Saw the challenge last night on Football First. That guy is a real shithouse and he meant it alright. Pienaar could easily have had his leg snapped with that challenge.
