For Coleman to go to United your looking at least 20 mil offer before we consider selling were Moyes will offer 6

Coleman, McCarthy and Stones are all on long contracts. Should wait for another year before considering giving out extension. Yes they are all performing well there is no doubt about that, especially Coleman but this club isn't loaded so we shall get Barkley and Mirallas to sign first. Coleman signed a new one a year ago. Stones signed for this club a year ago and McCarthy has been here for only six months. It will be very reckless for the manager to give out new contracts in this circumstances in particular their contracts are till summer 2018 or 2019.

Have to agree with this. Its a nice gesture but we're hardly rolling in it and I'd rather concentrate on getting Kev signed up, as well as Ross, which has gone dead quiet.

would imagine it's more about giving all three nearer the wage they could be offered at other clubs and upping the minimum fee release clauses to silly prices to ward off other clubs.
Can you imagine the sort of contract Coleman is on given what he was signed for? can't imagine there'd be a serious release clause in it. It's all about removing the temptation for other teams and the financial intensives for the players to move.

Mate no offense like, but you do realise that hardly any players in England actually have any release clause in their contracts, its a continental thing, with 99.99% surety i can say that McCarthy, Coleman and all the other British players will not have one in their contracts. And very few of the foreign lids will have one either as it's just not something that British clubs do unless their hands really forced (Fellaini for example) It's getting a bit annoying seeing that as a reason why we'd have to sell someone or to up a existing contract spouted so often in here lately

Yeah -- forget release clauses.

2 ways to look at it:

A-- Were tying up players martinez wants to build around long term - coleman/mccarthy/stones/barkley.

B-- Were signing one or two in the summer on big wages and these 4 should be level or close to those numbers.

I can understand the reasoning behind offering Coleman and Stones new improved deals, but McCarthy, already?

I think were signing another midfielder same age etc etc and higher salary so theyre being boosted to fall in line.

If mccarthy is on 30k and we sign someone and put him on 40k then its not conducive to team spirit.

We bought McCarthy for £13 million. I'm fairly sure he'll be one of our top earners.

Doubt it, probably middle earners, not top.
Yeah don't see how he could be one of the top. Probably smack dab in the middle imo.
*edit*read that a bit wrong, didn't notice the prognostication.

And I don't see how bringing in someone of the same age but the new player earns more could damage team morale. Don't recall people putting up a fuss with fellaini being the most likely to earner.

We bought him from Wigan, who bought him as a teenager from a very small team in Scotland, if hes on more than 40k a week I will be utterly shocked.

as well as the fact you know he won't be an arse about being underpaid compared to others. he just wants to play footy - the money is a bonus.
