Best right side in the Prem this season if we don't sell him FFS.

I'm looking forward to plenty of celebrations like this come August and beyond.

Coleman's the best right back we've had in 25 years and we have seen some crud line up in that position more than any other. Hibbert is probably the 2nd best, and that should tell you something.

We finally have a top quality RB and people can't wait to auction him off. I think some people have been conditioned into getting a nice warm feeling over transfer fees but that won't comfort you when you have to watch the next Alec Cleland take to the field.

Tony Hibbert being at Everton in the 2015/16 season tells you all you need to know about the club.

He should have been binned a decade ago, yet is still hanging around stealing a wage.

Get rid and get some decent competition in for Coleman ffs.

lost a lot of respect for hibbert over the past few seasons.

He's always been crap yeah but he did always try his hardest, but what i've lost respect for him over is the fact he hasn't got the balls, or respect to retire.

He can't offer the team anything, he's been paid to be injured or go fishing.. it's very disappointing, he's stealing a wage and he must know it.

If he had any respect, self respect or respect for the club he would've retired or just stayed on in a only coaching capacity.

100% agree.

He could drop down a couple of leagues and get a game most weeks if he could remain fit, yet he's stuck around on his (no doubt) 30k a week wage to do quite literally nothing.

If he was a foreigner he'd be called all sorts, but because he's 'Our Tony' it's all swept under the carpet.

Paying him 1.6 million a year for nothing, with our finances, is scandalous. The past three years he's been nowhere to be seen; that 5m pounds could have bought us a decent footballer.

Martinez was the one who gave him the new contract mate...

Huh. While that's not an unfair stance to take, I do think it's similarly worth looking at it from Hibbert's perspective. It's got to be agonizing walking away from a sport. It may not absolve him, exactly, but it's understandable, and he wouldn't be the first nor the last athlete to push on past time.

It's not that though!

He's not been interested in playing football whatsoever. He knows he is nowhere near good enough to be playing and is basically stealing a wage from the club he is supposed to love. He could have gone down a league or two years ago and been first choice right back.

Has he said any of that, or are you just speculating?
