Very valid question

He'd have to back himself to be able to displace Jags or Stones if he came here - not an easy feat since Jags is club captain and Stones is the best arguably already the centre back I've ever seen in a blue shirt

Would also give Martinez the personnel to play that 3-4-3 he likes I guess, but unless we're going to be prepared to give Ogbonna a big pay rise, you'd struggle to see why he'd fancy us. Realistically, he could earn similar money at West Ham or Southampton but play every week.

We have Mirallas, McGeady & Deulofeu for right wing. Surely one of them would have to make way?

That's not good enough, and he's not good enough, as a strategy for replacing Kev imo mate, and besides shelling out too much for him, he's probably at his peak, or leaving it as a pacey winger. We need to work harder if that's the case.

Didn't Martinez specifically state he wanted a left footed defender a while back? Ogbonna is that at least.

It's no slight against him that he couldn't get in the team ahead of Chiellini and Bonucci. He's a tank, would be a welcome addition especially for €8-10m.
