Palace fan here in peace.

Why do you think we would accept £8m for our best player? Scott Dann is one of the best central defenders in the PL, I really believe that, If he was playing for a more fashionable club he would be Englands CB alongside Cahill, we have money in the bank and no offence but we finished above yourselves last year and from when Pardew took over mid season i think we finished 6th or 7th.

If you want to buy him it would have to be a silly offer that we simply couldnt refuse.

Ive read some comments about him being poor on the ball? I can only suggest you watch him play, he is very assured on the ball and can pass aswell as any centre half ive seen.

Absolutely. As I have pointed out before why would Palace sell Dann for the quoted price in £8m? You guys rate your captain as your most valuable asset so I don't understand why some fellow posters said "if" we can sign him for £6m which is not going to happen. I have not said he is poor on the ball by the way. I just think for the quoted price from the media, I trust that we can find players with better value elsewhere as English players are always overpriced.

That £15m mentioned in the Mirror is probably a response to our 'Ogbonna is our number one target' story that we clearly fed to the Echo yesterday.

Or the Echo made it up so that when we sign Dann they can say we missed out on our top target, hence turning it into a negative.

Who gives a crap if Dann has an England cap or not, it's irrelevant. Club and international teams are different look at Altidore ffs. Not to mention England's bang average now

England caps add a lot of value to a player's valuation though. And I thought we will sign an England CB regular (like Jags) if the price is £15m.

Cleverly had caps and we got him for free. A players either good or not and should be judged on his club form not if he won the xfactor England lottery

He and Milner are different things because they run down their contracts.

Welcome mate, we have a few Palace fans on here like @Alan Whittle and @cpfc1905 who are sound posters, we all enjoyed Crystanbul very much and how you didn't follow the script on Gerrard's Anfield goodbye!

What is the gossip from your end? We've heard that Dann and his wife are homesick for Liverpool which makes him keen on the deal but not sure how much substance there is to it.

Answer me this honestly, would you rather have Stones or Jags than Dann?

Dann is equality as good as Jagielka

If we or someone else bid £8m for Jags you would laugh your head off but you think we will sell Dann for peanuts?

Scott Dann is a scouser but he is a massive liverpool fan, its not him that wants to move back home, its his misses.

Everton are a bigger club but if you want to prize him away it will take alot of money, our chairman doesnt sell players on the cheap, recently our chairman listed Dann in his all time palace 11, he really raves about him, our last top player we sold was Zaha for £15m, we would want atleast that if not more.

I think 8 million is a bit too much tbh, he won't have much of a resale value, he's only 2 years left on his contract ,and he's unhappy there due to having to witness grown men with drums jumping up and down like soccer am bells every other week.

If the kopite tit wants to join FC Handsome for a reasonable fee then who am i to argue.

I'm sure that Scott is sat with a big sheet of paper with a line down the middle with "Crystal Palace" on one side and "Everton" down the middle and he's writing all the points down, agonising himself as he just can't separate the two.

That is until he comes to the section of "supporters beat a drum and act zany for the cameras".

Welcome to Everton Scott.

It's not about resale value, chances are if we signed him this year he won't ever be sold. I hate that whole "there's no resale value in this one" nonsense.

Jagielka cost half of the 8m you're scoffing at eight years ago before he had England caps you taeg.

@chicoazul what is the point you are trying to make there? Jags was 24 and costed £4m. Mirror said Palace want £15m for Dann who is 28.

I think palace and Everton have someone in common, we both bloody hate Liverpool, whats quite amusing is we seem to do ok against them, beat them twice this season and stopped them winning the league last year!

We can't work out why you'd sell him that cheaply and imagine you probably aren't. We certainly won't pay anything over £10M for what will be almost a back up role. We also can't see what would be in it for Dann other than living back in Liverpool again for family reasons.

It doesn't really make any sense.

Don't get me wrong, we'd love him for that price as you'd expect, but don't think for a minute that's his actual price or even that he's available. It's mainly just the papers talking about it so probably just made up.

Most of the media, that you cited, are saying he would cost 8m. You think there is better value elsewhere because he's English.
