....yep, think you're right. No great goal scoring record but plenty of assists. The You Tube examples are mainly him whipping in crosses from wide, can probably play out there or more central. Aged 28.

The stats for Payet certainly put him in good company, however it seems a lot of his assists/chances created are from set pieces/crosses. Don't recall us being too good from set pieces under Martinez? And do we score many headed goals?

we'd be the stepping stone. if he performs well for us for a couple of seasons, he'd be guaranteed a massive move. bigger clubs would take note, if a 'big' club signed him now, he would inevitbley sit on the bench. makes sense to join a sleeping giant like ourselves.
