Summer transfer window 2023

We need a striker far far more than we need any other position, and Gnonto is not a player we should be focussing on right now. He's a good player, but not the no.1 priority.
It’s not a phrase we like but will only know at the end of the window. If we’re putting most of our budget into Gnonto it’s crazy when a PL quality starting striker is such an obvious priority. But we have no idea what’s being worked on for that I guess.

At the moment it feels like a classic Everton over-correction summer like when we bought nothing but number 10s, or even last summer when (decent as they are) we bought three defensive midfielders and only Maupay to score the goals.

Name 5 who are realistic and would improve us up front.

Every striker pretty much is available. Every player has a price. We may not be able to match that price but every player has one. Its not a fans job to pick 5 realistic strikers who would improve, that's up to the clueless bellends who get paid millions to find them such as Thelwell, his scouts and Laurel & Hardy.

Game 2 coming up, no proper like for like DCL replacement through the door still.

It's absolutely disgraceful recruitment whichever way we try and dress it up.

You have to also judge a transfer window partly on the points won and lost in August. We are never ready to start a season well due to poor recruitment and delays with getting the right players in. This transfer window has already been a failure for me because we lost 3 big points simply through not having a good striker available to play in a game we should be winning at home.

Judge us at the end of the window is only a phrase used by disorganised, and badly ran clubs. The league starts at game 1, not game 5.

Daka
Iheanacho
Beto
Antonio
Broja (loan)

??

Almost any capable striker who can give us a focal point and who isn’t Neal Maupay
Broja is a myth - contributed so so little and is a perpetual injury risk.
Beto is one that would improve us but we aren't going to get him for the fee touted (Udinese's starting striker is hardly going to come here on the cheap).
Antonio is washed but will do for one season, after that he'll be a glorified Rondon.
Iheanacho and Daka are much more realistic, Daka more so than Iheanacho given how well liked Iheanacho is at Leicester
