Summer transfer window 2023

Mate. We will not have a striker in for the first couple of games. How many days away are we now? We don't get deals done that quickly.

We'll get one of the awful strikers I mentioned above in, but it will take us weeks. We will sign big Che in deadline day, thus making all the fans jump with joy that we managed to get a striker in, making us all think that it's better than no one, just like with Maupay. We do it time and time again. It's one of the ways the club has successfully managed expectations over the years.

Why do we always try to be active on deadline day, instead of tying our targets up early like other clubs? For the following reasons:
- We are nearly always skint
- Saves money on wages
- Kenwright loves the ego thing of making a theatrical deadline day and making it about him.
- It manages our expectations and makes us happier about signing 💩💩💩

Danjuma is a ST/LW/RW in a similar vein to what Richarlison is. If we don't get anyone else in between now and Fulham. He will start up top, you would hope.

Look, if we have been talking to other players and clubs and having back-ups prepped then great. But we have NEVER done that before and it is still Kenwright running all our transfers, so why would it be different this time?

Red Kev could have a list as long as his nose, but we still have one, near 80 year old man - a moderately successful theatre producer no less, not a super CEO or major international business heavyweight - negotiating all our transfers. Other clubs have huge teams and mega business types doing this stuff.

We simply won't have our ducks in row. Also, let's say we now go to Salernitana for Dia, with his clause having expired. Why won't they expect what we had offered for Toure? Or at least close to? That will.slow down negotiations again. So we'll go for the easiest option - a crap player recently relegated to the championship, who would push to come to us, thus making it easier for a deal to be done. Hence, welcome Che on deadline day.
get why angry and right about the rest just for me has been players the dof has wanted toure danjuma. Young was prob abit of both from manager and the dof, so that has given me some hope that we do have players not just the usual list . Also alot of the talk has been kept quiet if it was adams ect would expect alot more talk.

I have no idea mate. As an estimate, maybe £25-£30m.

It's a lot for a lad that has never played in a top league, but I think he's got the chops for it. Here's a video of him. Obviously it's a highlights video and they are dangerous and full of crap music, but you get the idea. I've watched him in full games a couple of times. He's really good.

Gift Emmanuel Orban has no shortage of desirable qualities for a forward, but unlocking them is the key. He doesn’t necessarily have that inevitable moment or two in a match when things aren’t set for him, which is why he benefits tremendously from working in a well-drilled attacking system.

With his current physical limitations in mind, it seems as though he has the quality to ascend well into the top-five leagues but the ideal destination may be somewhat limited. Playing as a striker – or possibly even better as an inside forward – for a top Bundesliga could be hugely beneficial to his game, whereas that might not translate to more physically-demanding environments like the Premier League.

Thought you were quoting ChatGPT then! 😄

It's a step up, but it's a good move to make. If we could get him for less than I think, say £20m, with decent payment structures, we could bring in another too. I mean, we all thought that we really needed 2 strikers and 2 wingers this window.

The issue is, I could definitely see Orban exploding in value soon. We could get him now, but will soon be out of the equation as bigger clubs loom next season.

I mean , he's no Maupay like.

Wouldn't it be refreshing if we just woke up and they had bought someone for a reasonable fee they had scouted and intend to develop. Instead everything is a saga
We seem to be incapable of everything on and off the field to the point where you think how do we still exist!!

Not arsed about the player because I’ve never seen him play it’s more about the club failing a deal on someone they wanted.

Likewise. Hadn't really seen him play, and always prefer my strikers to have better goalscoring records, whatever the level they have been playing at. But there were things about his profile that made it seem worthwhile.

However, it really makes me cringe how much time Everton put into deals that never come off. It's a real test now for me as to whether or not we'll stay a prem team for the next few years. I want to see what we do next. The Adams/Mateta/Weghorst route means we continue to circle the drain.

Preferably we will go and get some young talent like Orban. Or, failing that type of signing, bring in slightly older players who have some talents with the ball as well as scoring goals, like Dia or Guirassy.

But I suspect we'll go category 3: 'proven' PL players who run around and don't score goals in the PL, like Adams, Mateta, Weghorst.

Since once place has Orban at 4m and another at 20m, if he does transfer this window it may give a little insight into which source is more realistic.
