Summer transfer window 2023

Ta. So as things stand the most likely 3 in seems to be Gnonto, Danjuma and Iheanacho. If that can happen before the Fulham game then we will have done reasonably well. Outs look like Gray, Holgate and Onana to me but not sure. Then a little flurry of loans in and out at the end of the window, I guess. Nothing for certain but it feels a little more positive to me. Maybe enough there to see off Sheff Utd, Luton and Forest.
I think Wolves are in trouble too mate. Unless they bring a couple in their squad is very thin and they have lost and not replaced key players.

As for us - who knows…..

I’m pinning my hopes that dyche’s points to game ratio from last season would have seen us comfortable. I think he gets enough out of the squad with a few attacking options in.

The prem looks weak this year.

Gnonto + Danjuma + Striker + LB.

Too much to ask?
No

It's what we need. Although I think young is the full back signing, because he can play both sides.

We also have lots of fringe players we need to let go.

Then we need to make decisions on those players in their final year - Gray and Iwobi being the main two. We can't afford first team players leaving on free transfers anymore.

Fulham could be in deep too, they weren't as good last season as their league position suggested and Mitrovic sounds like he'll basically strike to get his Saudi move, Palhinha possibly out the door too. Will have money but hard to replace those players.

Why would you think Onana is out? I think for what we would ask for him a lot of clubs have probably pulled the plug. You’re basically having to folk out 60m on a player who has had one season in the league and hardly did amazing. I’m not surprised players like Caicedo are going for a lot more.

Best thing for Onana in my opinion is another season at us, see where we finish and see how he does. Simply put he’s currently not good enough for any top 6 club in any of the big leagues. He needs to get his head down, work, have a great season and try and get his move either in January or the end of next season.

My only hope is these players are now seeing things such as the stadium and thinking, I want to walk out in front of 55 thousand fans in that beautiful stadium. Just a shame Coleman won’t be there to lead us out, although he could do an Ashley Young I suppose.

What happens when you throw loads of money at players though. Then they don’t perform or leave and it leaves you screwed. Got to hope the league look at FFP and P&S rules otherwise Saudi are going to just take everyone half decent.
