Morning mates.

Welcome to the 20th July Everton transfer 💩 show…..

I’ve tried to bundle together as many of the transfer rumours & news flying around, combining them into one bite size and heart burn inducing portion for your dining pleasure.

I make some apology for some of the sources and articles used.

Everton have registered interest in Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, but are yet to submit a former offer for the 21-year-old, according to Sky Sports. The broadcaster reported via their Transfer Centre on Wednesday (19 July, 10:57pm) that Sean Dyche’s side has been in contact with Ajax about the possibility of sealing Brobbey’s signature, who has interest last summer from the likes of Manchester United but opted to rejoin Ajaz from RB Leipzig.

Everton are set to win the race for a key David Moyes target. According to a report from Sport Italia, Everton are closing in on the signing of Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United. Sport Italia reckon that Gnonto is closing in on a move from Leeds to Everton, after his agent Claudio Vigorelli travelled to London to dot the I’s and cross the T’s.

Arnaut Danjuma is now just one step away from joining Everton after coming extremely close to joining AC Milan in the summer transfer window. That is according to a report from AS, which notes that the Toffees are set to pay £3.5 million while also covering the forward’s wages – presumably to secure a loan deal for the Dutchman.

According to Tutto Juve (via Sport Witness), Everton are interested in signing young Belgian defender Koni de Winter this summer, and they have ‘inquired’ about his situation at Juventus.

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Bayer Leverkusen are leading the race to sign Union St Gilloise’s Nigerian striker Victor Boniface. Everton were reportedly looking into the prospect of signing the 22-year-old, but it appears that Bayer Leverkusen have now put themselves firmly in the driving seat. According to Tavolieri, Boniface is also keen on the move. He was part of the Union side that lost to Leverkusen during the 2022/2023 Europa League quarter-finals.

Everton are reluctantly willing to sell Amadou Onana this summer, but want to make a big profit on the reported Arsenal target. That is according to a report from TEAMtalk, which notes that the Toffees are looking to raise funds which will allow them to strengthen their attacking options in the transfer window.

An unnamed Premier League side, along with Crystal Palace and Al Hilal, are interested in signing Everton forward Demarai Gray, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers. Gray joined Everton in 2021 for a reported £1.7million from Bayer Leverkusen [BBC Sport] and has been a regular at Goodison Park, pitching in 12 goals in his first two seasons.

Everton could unearth a “breakout player” who could “surprise a few people” at Goodison Park this season, journalist Paul Brown has told GIVEMESPORT. Dyche has confirmed that he is looking forward to working with Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite when the youngster returns to pre-season training after helping England win the U21 Euros this summer.

Former Everton star Kevin Campbell has called on the club to sign forward Moussa Dembele on a free transfer this summer. The Frenchman, who Brendan Rodgers once referred to as a “quality” player, left Lyon after a five-year spell at the end of last season, with the Toffees being long-term admirers of the striker.

Kelechi Iheanacho could be also close to leaving Leicester to join Everton, but there’s still work to be done as a fee below £15million looks to be turned down. Iheanacho joined Leicester in 2017, and has since his arrival not really managed to establish himself as a certain first choice.(Football Insider)

Everton are set to miss out on signing Ashley Phillips this summer. 90min have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are set to win the race for the Blackburn Rovers defender and will loan him out once he has completed his £3 million move to North London.
Ta. So as things stand the most likely 3 in seems to be Gnonto, Danjuma and Iheanacho. If that can happen before the Fulham game then we will have done reasonably well. Outs look like Gray, Holgate and Onana to me but not sure. Then a little flurry of loans in and out at the end of the window, I guess. Nothing for certain but it feels a little more positive to me. Maybe enough there to see off Sheff Utd, Luton and Forest.

I actually reckon we have a board in the "scouting war room" which basically reads;

EFC transfer strategy.

Mulling
Interest
Considering
Registering
Pondering
Looking at
Maybe scouting
Asking for information
Actually Scout
Offer something stupid
Offer something reasonable
Pull out
Offer something over the top
Complete signing.

Basically a cheat sheet to leak to any potential source with any name.

The fact we are at the "asking for information stage" means this is probably all going to Deadline Day.
Board? more like a chocolate wheel

Next up an easy win with a young Japanese player, again been banging them in for fun as past couple of seasons.
Looks technically very good, has composure and seems clinical in front of goal, can play up top or off the right.
Currently at Cercle Brugge so shirt sales alone would cover his transfer fee and salary!

The old football shirt myth... if only it was true
