His injury record last season was pretty poor though, even when he came back towards the end I think there was a game (Leicester away) where he looked absolutely finished but played in through the pain barrier.
Yeah I remember the commentators talking about how he was clearly still hurt but that it just symbolized how desperate Leicester had become. People talked about them losing Schmeichel as being their defensive demise, but it was as much about losing Evans.

Ironically my main concern is the injury record more than his age or speed (which is also a concern). If he’s not available he’s just a cheaper Mina. Though as I type that out maybe that’s the idea.

Evans is a good player, but if he can't stay fit, what's the point.

Did think it's the kind of move we'd end up having to make to though. For all the talk of our lack of goals, with Mina gone, our centre back options are really weak. We probably would have been looking at the likes of Craig Dawson and Ben Mee if they hadn't recently changed clubs.

Heads are falling off a bit but I think if you listed without context Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Evans, Keane, Holgate, Godfrey, Coady.

Evans is comfortably in the top 3, if not 2. Yeah he’s old but if we got 1 or 2 seasons out of him, same as Young, then hopefully by the time we’ll be in the new stadium and away from financial difficulties we can go and get the proper Young replacement.

I’d take a boring team of pensioners that finish 12th the next two years if we can have more excitement after that and try to push on a bit.
