He's the only realistic choice for a striker that we need to push into top 6 that is actually available and likely willing to join us.

Deeney is realistic too but he's not going to push us into top 6 so if we don't get Costa or somebody of his calibre then I'd rather we just save the money and make do with what we have rather than waste it on someone who will only add a marginally extra bit of depth.

Save for the money for a rainy day? We haven't signed one now so what's the odds on is nxt summer? I just can't trust this board to deliver and I thought things was changing

..I only say that because the deal was reported dead yesterday. Apparently we weren't prepared to match his wages but who knows, perhaps it'll be resurrected.

Problem mate is that Atletico don't need to complete today. Their deadline is tomorrow and they can loan him out to another team in Spain for 6 months. They won't be working to our deadline.

The answer is no for me.
