Summer Transfer Window 2017

We've clearly got desperate now. Was looking for a tall, strong striker with good hold up play and now with Sky confirming we want a loan for Lucas Perez, who is a striker but with none of the attributes above.

The worse thing is that the player doesn't even want to come.

So it's very likely our search for a striker will fail badly.

Surely he's a replacement for Mirallas/Lennon if true.

We should have been in for llorente. He's going to play second fiddle at Spurs to Kane, but would walk into our starting 11. Great target man, excellent touch and scores goals. Just what we needed, hopefully the signing of vlasic will give us some much needed pace in the team.
At this rate we will have him spinting down the touchline with striker Rooney on the half way line, gueye furthest forward and lewen out wide on the other side.

Before crossing it in to no-one again

You have to wonder if we were hoping to have sold off more players by now, particularly Barkley and McCarthy in order to fund a striker purchase. If the manager and Walsh knew all along that we'd have to sell to buy, then their use of the budget afforded to them will have to be questioned. Did we really need both Sigurddson and Klaasen for those prices? Especially given we had to replace Lukaku. All the talk when we sold him was of spreading the goals around. No one looks likely to slot consistently right now except Rooney. It's not good enough. Personnel wise we have some good players, but there are teams below us who function better as an attacking unit. Not to mention those above us.

However if Koeman was under the impression that money was no issue and we'd have plenty left for a striker, then serious questions need to be asked of our board. Whatever way you spin it, even if we do get someone in today, we've handled this appallingly.

Klaassen is just a bizarre signing....

Sanchez who went to spurs is a good centre back
De ligt will be a star centre back
Dolberg is going to be a star forward

not sure why we got klaassen and rooney and Sigurdsson

Think I'm gonna go to McDonald's drive through and pretend I'm Harry Redknapp for a few minutes.

Happy meal please tweacle, not for me tweacle no, its for the chairman, he deals with all that kind of stuff.

Fancy a Big Mac?

A smashing little burger, always admired it, make a lovely top top top bit of lunch, but I wouldn't talk about it out of respect for its current owner.

Aside from the fact I don't necessarily agree with your logic - 38 0-0 draws will likely get you relegated so not conceding can't really be more important - it's also worth pointing out that our defensive improvement is currently entirely theoretical and has not been confirmed. We haven't kept a clean sheet in any of our last 3 games, so I wouldn't automatically assume we'll be impenetrable this season.

Spot on. You can win one and lose two, and you'll have the same amount of points if you draw three games 0-0. This defensive improvement as well seems to have come at the cost of attacking fluidity. One goalkeeper, three centre backs and two holding midfielders leaves 5 more spots for creative, attack minded outfield players. I just don't think our personnel are good enough to create and score that many goals. Not to mention we currently have people playing at wing back who just don't suit it.

Personnel wise, we have a far better goalkeeper and one better centre half- but we're being forced into three at the back because nobody wants to see only one of Jagielka or Williams paired with Keane. That would be suicidal. Quite frankly the manager doesn't know his best team, best formation, best tactics and doesn't even have all the pieces yet with less than 12 hours to go in the transfer window.
