I think it's telling that the club hasn't received an offer for Ross. If his potential next clubs are waiting for him to run down the last year of his contract at Everton, that will make it an uncomfortable last season for Ross in his last season and a financially crippling one for Everton.
Not yet C.
1st July.
Can we stop this, please? (Not specifically aiming this at you @bluejim95, there's a lot of it going round.)Think Sandro will be refreshing to watch after Lukaku. Not sure how Chelsea will get on swapping Costa for Lukaku though. Hazard will be trying to guess which way the ball is going to rebound off Rom's rubber shins. Very little space and never one to gamble on the cross, I think he may continue his scoring duck for Chelsea. Imagine the pressure he will be under if 10 games in he hasn't scored a goal after spending north of 70m on him.
Sandro seems like a Tim Cahill type player in that he understands what the fans want to see, playing with passion. Of all the possible transfers, Sandro is the one I'm most looking forward to watching.
Big fan of Klasson, think the whole Ajax team were poor against utd and that shouldn't be a yard stick to judge him against.
Pickford doesn't excite me if I'm honest. Was hoping for a more imposing goalie, time will tell though.
Because we'd lose out on a potential 25m- 35m transfer fee. That is a big hit to take financially for the club, with a player who doesn't want to commit their future to the club.1. Who are these clubs waiting for his contract to run down? WBA to save a few bob?
2. Why is it financially crippling to Everton if instead of paying him £5m next year, we "only" pay him £2m?
Unless he is actually going to sign when he gets back from holiday, he has played this game terribly.
We have waited what seems like a lifetime to get a striker who can reach the 'holy grail' of 20 goals in the premier league. Sometimes you only really appreciate something when it's gone. I fear some of our supporters will be thinking that come next season. Can we stop this, please? (Not specifically aiming this at you @bluejim95, there's a lot of it going round.)
!If we do have 100mil euro to spend and use it like this we would have around 15mil left over.
GK-Pickford/Robles
RB-Coleman/Kenny
RCB-Keane/Holgate
LCB-Williams/???
LB-Baines/Galloway
DM-Schneiderlin
CM-Klaassen/Davies
CM-Gana/???
LW-Lookman/Mirallas
CF-Sandro/DCL
RW-Bolasie/???
lukaku/barkley/McCarthy/deulofeu etc all sold would bring in perhaps 150mil +15mil
Would you be happy with this basic squad with 165mil to spend?

Rewriting history to make it sound like Lukaku isn't the best striker we've had in about 3 decades doesn't do any of us any favours.

Gonna need to spend more than the Lukaku money on bog standard players to impress me.
Vinny J please.
Don't want him.
He was good for Wimbledon and made a real impression in Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, but acting might only get you a dodgy pen. And that is being clamped down on next season.
it's not financially crippling though, as we won't budget taking into account a big Barkley fee.Because we'd lose out on a potential 25m- 35m transfer fee. That is a big hit to take financially for the club, with a player who doesn't want to commit their future to the club.
He wasn't awesome, whether through effort or anything else.No offence taken, opinions of course.
I don't disagree that he's the best we've had in a long time and I agree his hold up play has much improved. I'm just tired of his lack of movement and passion. The Straq was awesome through effort alone and if Rom showed even 5% of that desire he'd be bossing every game. Fact is, Chelsea in the cup is still the only game I've really seen him take the game by the scruff of the neck.
Rom would be better suited to Utd in my eyes and I can see a perfect storm brewing at Chelsea for him, I get the feeling Costa is a fan favourite.
