Addons maybe for success at new club, or a sell on fee % they would rather see him go to a club with a better track record of both?

If he goes to a big club then he may be unlikely to be sold again for a big profit, plus if he doesnt play its pointless.

You can get another 20+ goals striker with £75m that wants to play for Everton football club and doesn't chat wham every time he's on international duty.

I don't read that stuff so it doesn't bother me.

He wears the shirt, scores goals, his successor might not bag 20 a season.

If he wants to go by all means sell him, I just don't get the clamour to get rid of him by some that's all.

Really?

For years we have been crying out for a 20+ goal a season striker, we have one and people want to sell him!

Nowt as strange as folk as the old saying goes.
Totally agree with your post....but if the player wants away he wont be productive for the club. Unfortunately best option is take the money offered for him and re invest....

If we realistically expect to get 100 million then I wouldn't take Ake and Batman plus 40 mil, that means you are valuing those two players at a combined 60 million!!!!
Well if we can put a silly fee of 100m on Rom's head then so can they. At the end of the day Rom is only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Remember this quote "I wouldn't sell Wayne, even for 50m"? Fees put on players heads mean nothing. I'd rather keep him but if he does go then anything over 70m will be good business.

That's it, if he hadn't made it so public that he wants to leave, no one would be desperate to sell him. Everyone knows he's leaving at some point in the very near future anyway.

..surprises me that a selling club are dictating where a player should go. I'd have thought they set a price, a club agree to pay it and then it's up to the player. Bit like going into the Asda to with the right money to buy a loaf and they say they prefer to sell it to somebody else.

Kiev wouldn't sell Yarmolenko to us coz they wanted him to go to a big club

It's hardly as if he is being pushed out the door.
He has turned down the biggest contract offered by the club to any player and has continually spoken about his ambition ...which clearly did not include Everton.

I am not sure what supporters are supposed to say or do.

No player is bigger than the club and I feel that if his fee paid for Sando, Keane, Bathsuayi and a portion of Klaasen then I would consider it great business.

I think the clamour is because he clearly wants to leave. If he was telling journalists he loves Everton and wants to fire them into the CL every time he was on international duty, I doubt anyone would want to sell him.

Player wants to leave and implies he has out grown us. No one player is bigger than the club so with that attitude he can do one if we get a decent fee.

Happens quite often when the club don't need the cash but have promised the player he can leave if a certain type of club come in.

This could tell us how confident the club is about positioning itself to go the next step in 2017/18.

If we did well in this window, kept Lukaku here and got into the CL, he'd have no reason to leave, would he?

The risk is that he could get sulky, but he'd need to perform to attract the sort of club he aspires to go to.

Having said that, I'm not that fussed about whether he stays or not. NEA anymore.
