Summer Transfer Window 2017

There is absolutely no point in signing squad fillers. The players we sign should be for the first team and pushing the current incumbents on to the bench. Its a shame that Kenny has gone to this under 20 tournament because I wanted to see Kenny given the two full games where we could see him playing as a full back and defending rather than almost the auxillary winger he played as against Swansea when he came on. We have looked half the team since Coleman got injured because the system we play relies on the fullback bombing on and as good a defender as holgate is, he is never going to have that aspect to his play. If Koeman thinks we need a right back it needs to be a trippier type player and not cuco the clown. We need two centre halfs, a playmaking midfielder a centre forward to replace or at least provide backup to lukaku and a wide forward. We also do need a keeper despite me thinking that Joel should be given a go. Steklenberg should be our third choice or bombed out. Moshiri needs to get his wallet out because for the right level of players (without Lukaku leaving) we need to be looking at approx 150 million quids worth of player really based on
Pickford 20
VVD 45-50
Klassen 20
Dolberg 30
Sandro 5
Trippier 15
That list is 140 mil and doesnt account for a second centre half. (dont think we will get Trippier either but thats the type of player we need). These arent necessarily the players I would go for but are players we have been linked with and arent players who are going to want champions league football (VVD possibly excepted).
There should then be an u23/ development budget for Unsworth and Walsh quirky signings like George Hirst and possibly some of the young players/loanees at Chelsea who may be interested in actually seeing a route to first team football. No real squad fillers though - first team or development with a view to breaking through in the future.

I think Laczette will be Athleticos main target if their transfer ban is lifted and the sell Griezman
They probably see Sandro as a bargain with a good resale value

exactly, so obvious, they're not going to sell a striker for £75m and replace him with a £5m youngster. It's the same as our fans worrying that we're going to replace lukaku with sandro, teams build squads.

Twice in that game Klassen had the ball arriving to him in space on the edge of their box, obviously with a great chance to score, only for Traore to charge in and steal it just before it arrived to Klassen, and then proceed to cock it up, absolutely zero vision - he's just very very fast and hard working

Sounds like Enner Valencia

I've watched us all season and if there is one thing that has stood out, it's that we don't really have a playing style. It's crazily inconsistent and often with different formations.

More recently it's been pass it around the back and then midfield to defence, like it was last season.
He's the boro Traore, mixed with a bit of Deulofeu and a load of Paolo wanchoppe all rolled into one player

with lots of all 3's bad qualities

You've described Bolasie there, and I actually quite like him.

@bluestevon

Have to be honest, I think Bertrand Traore looks potentially top class....just needs to work on his decision making but theres been games where hes been unplayable

My order from Ajax would be

Dolberg
Davinson Sanchez
Ziyech
Klaassen
Traore / Riedewald / Tete

Ziyech would crumble in our league IMO. I like Tete though; cheap and good enough to fill in for Coleman. Traore is far too raw at the minute but has potential. Ridiculously one footed though.

Theyre just the ones I think will hit the top, If were talking players we should sign;

Dolberg and Davinson would be top notch from day 1. Potentially world class

Rielewald and Tete may need a bit of bedding in.

Clearly, De Ligt and Kluivert look like they have crazy potential but need to beef up enormously

Klaassen, I am on the fence about.

I really don't know where the idea that Valencia is decent and has turned games has come from. He's had 2 maybe 3 decent subs appearances all season. The rest of the time he's been pure muck.

3 goals in 19 appearances. His passing is awful most of the time and he loses possession way too much.

Please no.

So is the general theme of the transfer thread now to sign the Ajax team then?

I did mention a few of these last year....heres one;

Davidson Sanchez from Ajax, number of "rumors" buzzing around that we have scouted since the summer and expect to make the addition in January

Don't know much about him to be honest

His name is Davinson Sanchez and he joined Ajax in the summer after turning down Barca.He is a terrific right sided centre back who seems to have everything.
