Nah mate, he looks like him, but his playing style is completely different - besides for one thing - getting into really good goalscoring positions and finishing - which was pretty much Naismiths best attribute.

Passing, Movement, and pretty much every other facet of his game he looks massively better

Key is if he can translate it to a faster paced/better quality league

Think he'd be a boss signing tbh Stevon.

Koeman rates him highly. He's a leader and very tenacious in his play, but with that extra quality required as well. Not as silky as some, but would be ideal for us going forward IMO.

For a fee that wouldn't exactly be that high, I'd love him, immediately provides cover for lb,cb and dm, and can play all three at a really good level (probably to his detriment at a team like United)

One of the best utility players out there IMO - and what would he cost - maybe 10-12m?

Probably looking at 15m purely due to the fact he plays for Utd and he's 27, so not old, though he does only have a year left on his deal so I can't see it being much higher than that.

We can talk about all the players we want til the cows come home but i believe the most important thing is that we aren't just signing players but building a unit. We see right now that half the team does its own thing, especially attacking and the lack of coherency sometimes is having a negative effect.

So we realistically need to be looking at players who will form a difficult unit to break down. We don't just need a creative player, we need one that will also pack the middle out and be able to throw a tackle in. We need wingers who will get back all game to protect the full backs, we need a striker (or two) who can run and cover ground to force the ball back into our half when we have lost it.

This is what we need to take us that next stage, it is all well and good us signing individuals but if they cannot form together then they will be weak links in the side. 11 players who can work together effectively and compliment each other will make us difficult to beat, and if we can score within the unit also, then that will make the difference.

All of the above is purely fantistical and probably talking out my arse to some people. I just believe that come the march / april part of the season when we need to be grinding out results, having that unit will be the best thing for us now. By having players who can grow over time will be even better, imagine a hardworking creative midfield player who after 2 years can also thread the eye of a needle on the pitch? Or a winger who starts as a fullback cover and within a couple years can beat 3 players and put it in the top corner when they feel like it?

I just don't want us to have an exciting summer and that is it, i want to grow over years, get better and to compete

United have the habit of selling cheap as well, Mourinho has tried to stop that - but they still sell for a lot less than they buy when they don't want the player anymore

What did they actually pay for him initially 12-14m or so? aso yeah think he'd likely be available for around similar maybe bit less than they paid

Good enough for me really - if the manger wants him and walsh rates him also then why not, lads a leader and has things we lack in midfield, double deal for him and Dolberg please!

See my earlier post about strong rumours in the Netherlands he's about to change agents to a big Dutch agency?

I was about to say that Klaassen reminds me of Naismith, both in looks and playing style

He might chip in with a few goals, but what we don't have at the moment is any real creativity from our midfield three. Klaassen wouldn't really add that, which is why I was hoping for a Tielemans-type player

I think this is where people don't watch Klaassen as much as they do look at stats.
Klaassen in almost every game I have seen him, links the midfield to the attack, he is much more than just scoring tap ins, he drives the team forward and gives 110% in every game.

They don't make Naismith's captain of the mighty Ajax because he can score from 5 yards every other game, he is a really talented player, much more than just chipping in.

A three of Gylfi, Klaassen and ross behind Romelu or another striker sounds good, what it doesn't do however is give us much width, something I think is a weak spot of koemans. Lennon struggling, Delboy loaned, Mirallas taken off every game, lookman dropped, Bolasie crocked.

If we are looking at Ajax, they will want to make one big sale (typically) and then keep the rest of the squad together.

We should be lodging a bid for Dolberg now....get him signed and then move on for Klassen if he is keen to leave...

If we go for Klassen first then id not be amazed to see Ajax ask a huge amount for dolberg or just keep him a season

I'm as pessimistic as anyone with Everton and transfers but if someone doesn't want to play for us then that does make it pretty hard to sign them.
I understand what ur saying I was just thinking that it would be pulled out as an excuse why players hadn't signed when it was more maybe Bills playing games that scuppered any deal. Easy to say that player didn't want to join us anyway as an excuse.

Blind coming in I'd actually be very happy with!

I mentioned him to my grandad over the last 2 years, he is a top player IMO, versatile, good with the ball, always plays 6-7/10 when ive seen him. Yet for some reason he gets little to no plaudits ? Also liking the look of Eric Bailly, what a player he could be.

I would take Blind, Martial and Rooney as part of the Lukaku deal if possible, people may bite my head of for it but we would sort three positions out in one deal. Plus we may end Rom's rumoured love affair with the chelski rent boys.

There will be tons of excuses. And if a player chose to join say, Stoke over us, then yeah i'd be right with you.

But if a player chooses to join Man United, or a Champions League team, then it's hard to argue really.

We linked BT?

Not as far as I know.

There may have been some rumours last year - can't really remember.

It was more just off what @bluestevon said. He'd be ideal for us as cover for a few different positions, and would be a better option than Funes for that LCB spot in either a three or four at the back.

Sure Koeman and Walsh have their own ideas, like.

I didn't mate, no.

Is that Dolberg or Klassen? Guessing the former?

Nope it was Dolberg mate

It's using bad google translate i know but this article is from yesterday

The Danish attacker Kasper Dolberg is not surprisingly a hot name among major clubs around the world, and many agents also want to participate. His current agent, however, rejects that he no longer represents Dolberg.

15 goals in the Honorary Division, five in the European League and one in the Champions League qualification have not surprisingly made the Danish attacker Kasper Dolberg, 19, a hot topic in major clubs and larger countries in Europe. The Danish striker is in the process of his first senior season in Ajax, so it has thrown 21 goals and every week there are stories of clubs looking at Ajax attackers.

And it does not only seem to be clubs that look at Dolberg, because competition is also great in the agent market. Thus, you tell Telegraaf that 19-year-old attacker from Voel is about to change agent.

Tipsbladet.dk has tried to get a comment from Kasper Dolberg, but it has not been successful.

Jens Steffensen, who has hitherto been Kasper Dolberg's agent, rejects him on his way out.

"I can only say that I have a contract with Kasper Dolberg until 1 August 2018. It is a contract signed by Kasper Dolberg, Jens Steffensen and DBU, and it is the only legitimate contract that exists, says Jens Steffensen to tipsbladet.dk explains:

"But I am well aware that there are a lot of big Dutch companies and agencies trying to get on Kasper. That would probably be if he did well in Denmark. There are agents who come to the club (Ajax, ed.) All the time, and they also see that he is a huge talent and that he has an agent who lives in Denmark. So they try to get hold of him - so is the competition on the market.

Jens Steffensen has represented Kasper Dolberg, who signed a pre-contract with Ajax in January 2015, and in spring 2015 three Superliga matches played for SIF only 17 years. The shift followed to Ajax followed by a contract extension this summer, where the Danish attacker signed a deal that runs until summer 2021.

"He has not terminated his contract with Scandinavian Soccer (Steffensen's company, ed.), But I am well aware that players often change agents, so it's fun. But we have a valid contract, which runs until August 1, 2018, and then we have to see what happens then, says Jens Steffensen.

The Telegraaf already believes that Kasper Dolberg costs at least EUR 20 million - equivalent to about 150 million NOK - but the Dutch media continues to say that the price may well rise to 30 million euros - about 220 million, if Kasper Dolberg For example, it will first be sold in the summer of 2018.
