Summer Transfer Window 2017

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has been given the green light to open talks for two players he has personally scouted in the past week - Malaga's 21-year-old striker Sandro and Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen, 24.(Daily Mirror)

...lots of Klaassen links, £21m quoted;

Klaassen and Sandro both appear to be losing their hair at a young age but I doubt this is a club strategy, even if we are also linked with Rooney.

bunch of cry babies in here, stop getting so wound up about these stupid rumours with no quotes. Surely something better to do than slam the club and say "typical everton" when nothing's even happened.
Quite funny to read to be honest considering this season isn't even over yet and the window isn't open for 2 months yet people are panicking that we aren't signing a certain player.

Klassen is an interesting one too, he's a weirdly effective player, much like the way Lampard the way he finds space. Can he do it at a better standard league is the usual worry with players from Holland.

...yep, he's not a 'wow' player but as you say he looks very effective playing close to the CF, linking play and getting on the end of things.

Nah not having Klaassen at all, he's more Naismith than Barkley. Sigurdsson is the one.

I was about to say that Klaassen reminds me of Naismith, both in looks and playing style

He might chip in with a few goals, but what we don't have at the moment is any real creativity from our midfield three. Klaassen wouldn't really add that, which is why I was hoping for a Tielemans-type player

Klaassen has 12 assists this season, and doesn't take corners or free-kicks...

He's exactly what this team is missing from midfield in that he actually looks to make forward runs into the area and that's why he gets goals.

Davies does it, but he's the only one.

Seen him twice so not gonna profess any great knowledge, reading up about him, he sounds a bit in the Eric Dier mould, but better in the ball.

Player who can play cb or defensive mid, would add a lot of options, I do expect half our signings could well be in that type of being able to play a couple of different positions well role.

Why Blind wouldn't be a shock to me either.

Blind coming in I'd actually be very happy with!

It's déjà vu all over again!
This time last year the opitmists, fuelled by £100m budget headlines and 'itk info' were attacking the pessimists as bedwetters while a want-away Lu was getting some Chelsea interest and a massive price tag stuck on his head.
Utimately Chelsea weren't willing to cough up so Lu stayed and the dreams of a string of impressive signings remained just that.
History tells us we shouldn't be so sure Lu is off and so quick to condem the doubters as bedwetters.

What are you on about now?

I'm not saying we're going to spend 100s of millions (not that I did last year either) or that Rom won't go or perhaps even Barkley.

What I am questioning is how you've taken comments from both management and club directors etc saying we will invest in the squad, and turned that into a negative?

Wait and see. As always. The season isn't over yet and no side can 'officially' sign a player until July 1.

We've already sold Cleverley and will have most of the other deadwood out of the door as well. Koeman knows what he wants and they'll do all they can to get those players in.

Klaassen also has 3 goals for Holland from 11 appearances from attacking midfield so he's clearly a goal threat.

Would be nice to have a goal threat from Midfield for a change.

Its fashionable on GOT to be an over the top, toys out of pram, outlandishly over speculative, wildly over creative doom monger. We have a few certain posters to blame for that.

Nah mate, he looks like him, but his playing style is completely different - besides for one thing - getting into really good goalscoring positions and finishing - which was pretty much Naismiths best attribute.

Passing, Movement, and pretty much every other facet of his game he looks massively better

Key is if he can translate it to a faster paced/better quality league

Aye mate, hopefully we will get those wow players, but we need the steel in the side as well, players of the same mould as Schneiderlin who do their job well and are very very consistant
