I think we were interested in Musacchio either last summer or in January? Decent CB but by all accounts Milan are seriously interested...

Can't see how van Dijk's price would put us off? I don't even think he will go for anywhere near £55m! £45-50m at a push maybe but if we were willing to pay Napoli £60m for Koulibaly last summer then I'm sure we wouldn't bulk at the van Dijk price.

Yeh I'd see him as a great option for that role, alternating with Davies in some games as the most attacking of the three, and then perhaps Gueye or Schneiderlin in other games when the need for two more defensive midfielders isn't as vital.

We probably won't sign him, like, but it'll be interesting as we've definitely had him scouted and he seems to fit the mould of what we'd look for.

Well with the way the Echo keep on going on about Sigurdsson it would suggest that he's a definite target this summer, but it's where does Koeman see him in the team? Does he see him centrally in a 3 or does he see him out wide in a forward 3? If it's the latter then we still need an attack minded CM that will contribute with plenty of assists and goals.

Klaassen would be a great buy and his agent as basically admitted in the past week that he's leaving Ajax so if it's true we've scouted him and Koeman is a big fan, then we'd be silly not to look at it!

I think we have no chance of signing him and the echo are dampening the expectations. Another supposed 'reliable' liverpool blogger said he has agreed to join them if they get top 4. But the more credible rumours have him joining Chelsea.

Considering Chelsea play 3 at the back and one of those is essentially a FB I think the rumours of Chelsea being interested are true.
City will also be in the market for a CB and VVD would suit Peps ideal of a ball playing CB
Unlikely VVD will choose us even with the Koeman connection

Koulibaly has a £49m release clause. Not quite £60m but still expensive mind....

Yeah I've seen that but then I've seen he will knock any club back if City want him cos he wants to work with Pep, then the following week he's close to Chelsea cos their offering Christensen in return on loan?

No one really knows yet and yeah, it probably is unlikely but we will try for him I'm sure! But I won't be that fussed if we miss out. Don't get me wrong he's a great player but there's that many good CB's out there that I'm sure we'll get a decent one or two!

I'm sure they will be, but they have Christensen coming back who Conte rates, Aki in reserve... There also interested in the likes of Koulibaly & Rudiger. So it's not a given they'll go for van Dijk. Depends on who they prefer cos they were very keen on Koulibaly last summer!

Strange Chelsea wanting a central defender as you say Christensen is back I'll be honest never seen him play but he is rated very very highly, I think ake is a Great player & zouma dependant upon his injury recovery is also class.

That's 6 including current 3 first choice plus chalobah who played against our under 23's last week he looked ready for men's football to me.

If we do miss out on van dijk or koulibally there is potentially something there for us I'd love ake. They apparently want to loan zouma out but our days of developing other teams players are gone.

Bit of caution here....Ajax play the likes of Cambuur, Go Ahead Eagles, Heerenveen and my very own 2nd team Roda JC week-in, week-out. The level of opposition in the Eredivisie is akin to League One here albeit with more technical ability
