Summer Transfer Window 2017

Last minute panic buy.
To this day I will never understand either of our interests in him, especially at that amount. He's NEVER shown anything that would warrant such a fee and Newcastle HAD to get rid of him because he had no relegation wage clause and he was getting stupid money. Same with that other guy who's name I can't spell.

Impressed at the Euros so was in the shop window.

We panicked too. Im glad we dodged that bullet.

Honestly hope we have players tied up June time, deals will already be getting done look at Depay already signed from PSV the other year while we had games left in the Prem.

No excuses especially after last summer and the farce was the MS transfer

Somebody mentioned it... what do you think about Mauricio Lemos from LasPalmas? Worth a shot? Great potential for me.

I've watched a lot of Las Palmas this season as they have played some cracking football. I like Lemos and as I was gutted losing Stones I would love to have another confident ball player at the back with great technique. He is also error prone but Las Palmas have been so kamikaze with their attacking that their defence has often been badly exposed.

He is strong and fast and takes a mean set piece. I'd be surprised if Koeman would consider him though.

I also love Roque Mesa and Jonathan Vieira but as they are midgets, @MorgsGoat has blocked any bids

...apparently we've met with Onyekuru but who knows what's truly happening;

RK has said we have enough youngsters and he wants experienced players in the 26/29 age bracket
If ROSS and Rom stay we would have those 2 plus Holgate and Davies as starters next season.
4 players 24 or younger might be enough for Koeman.
IMHO priorities are GK 2 CB creative player in middle 3 and a goalscoring left sided player up top.
So the 2CB GK and creative mid 3 player will all be experienced players.
RK has said he want a real go at top 4 next season so I can't see him going for too many young players.
Would Onyekuru be prepared for a couple of years in the youth teams ??

..I'm posting links and most are not in the 26/29 age range. That would mean we're not interested in Tielemans, Dolberg, Pickford and a host of others. If any of those come in they won't be for the Academy. I wouldn't take what RK said literally, I reckon he wants a few more experienced lads in there but if one of his priorities is available I doubt he'd pull the plug because they're not 26.

I agree Dolberg Tielemans are excellent players.
But if we are making a real go for top 4 then according to RK we need older experienced players.
In an ideal world we would sign 4/5 older players and 2/3 of the younger players and cull the squad.
Personally on a FIFA scenario with no financial restrictions I'd only keep Coleman ,Baines , Schnederlin ,Gana Davies , ROSS and Rom for the first team squad plus younger players like Holgate ,Lookman DCL etc , but that won't happen for financial reasons.
Hence the Rooney rumours which I am convinced will happen as long as United don't look for a big fee
An undisclosed fee for him can mean we paid 5 million or 25 million and that would worry me.

Mate, Koeman is the manager, he will want ready made players in preference no doubt, but the entire purpose of having a director of football is to have both a short sndclong term view for the club and its future success, Koeman may be putting forward predominantly older players but Walsh will 've the counter to that, and together they will agree on players who see to both the manager and the clubs needs, that way when Koeman leaves in a few years we won't be left with a geriatric squad such as the ones both martinez and then Koe man inherrited.

The likes of Dolberg, Tielemans etc fit the needs of both, players who can seriously contribute immediately despite their young age, and ones who long term represent a sound investment.
