If McCarthy is sold (which I think is likely), could see Klaasen coming in.
They're not exactly like for like, but with Schneiderlin, Gueye and Davies, you'd be looking at an excellent depth of central midfielders.
Barkley has to be played further up field on one of the wings in a 4-3-3, with the freedom to drift.

There's still Cleverley Niasse Mcgeady Kone McCarthy Lennon to get rid of on transfer. You could easily make a case for Valencia, Jagielka, Robles, as well. Lots of work to be done to replace large swathes of the squad even after the huge cull he did in the last window.
It's a shame because he's played well when needed this season but he hasn't played 10 games!
And that's purely down to injuries.
Koeman definitely likes Macca but if a team offers 15mil or more, he'll be off I imagine.
Cleverley is already gone. The deal is done for 8mil.
Niasse will be sold to Hull if they stay up. It was part of the deal. 10mil.
McGeady will stay at Preston. Probably on another loan or for a nominal fee.
Lennon will be moved on. Probs 3-4mil.
Kone will be shipped off asap.
McCarthy will go if we get a good offer and if we've got other midfield options lined up.
Valencia can't be sold - he's on loan. I doubt he'll be bought, but may stay if we get another loan deal sorted.
Jagielka is an iffy one. Think he'll stay with the Europa league factor, and Funes will be the one moved on if we bring 2 CBs in.
Was there not talk of a rumoured 20 m bid from Newcastle
If they bid that again I think RK will take it.
Injuries and the Ireland situation makes it very likely.
Mori may go if we get 2 CB as he would generate the most funds.
Add Geri and a few under 23s to that and I reckon there is the guts of 80 million in outgoings.
