Summer Transfer Window 2017

Ooo you're tempting fate here. I wouldn't be surprised if Saints dented your title hopes.
Im not saying we won it already, but as Liverpool proved, even with a week's rest between the fixtures every game is hard in the PL, so Conte has done remarkably well so far.
Besides, the CL teams had 3 months without european commitments and still managed to get alot of [Poor language removed] results, so its not really the deciding factor IMO.
It helps though

I keep seeing this line of Chelsea strugling next season due to Europe alot but i really dont get it, we've been in the CL every season for the last 15 years, we only missed out once, and we always finish among the top 3, we're not like Spurs who barely have any experience in it, we will manage just fine.
But we will spend a lot of money this summer apparently as Conte has made it clear that he wants to challenge for the CL next season, could see as many as 5 new starters next season, like a ST(Lukaku?) RW(Bernado Silva/Alexis) CM(Bakayoko) CB(Christensen/VVD/Ake) LWB(Mendy) RWB(Sidibe). So we could have a few players departing this summer, Willian/Pedro, Fabregas/Matic, Chalobah, RLC( loan), Musonda(loan), Kenedy( loan, you guys should be in for him btw), Begovic(You guys should also be in for him), Batshuayi, Abraham( loan).... the list goes on and on.
You struggled against united with one or two players missing
You'll need a bigger squad of experienced pros for next season

In the last 5 seasons you've finished 6th and 10th.

Lukaku will be 100 million, silva will be about 40-50, vvd will be 50-55 so thats 200 million on three players. Then you exspect to be spending more? You'd habe to sell half you squad to stay in financial fair play.

Are you coming up to G P ?

If we pull 1 CB from each of those groupings of 3 i would be very happy. Doubt it will ever come to pass, but would be thrilled if it did.

I disagree.

4 senior CB are the minimum. Say 2 new CB plus Williams and keep one of Jags or Mori.[/QUOTE]

Quote error on my post as i was quoting another poster, but somehow it all got lumped together.

Anyway agree with you - would keep Jags. 2 new CB, Jags, Williams and Pennington. Holgate also possible, but i think we may try to go with he and Kenny at RB....

FM to be sold.

Mate, can you either open a thread about Chelsea, or shut up about them in a thread about Evertons transfer business?

Ta.

In all honesty, when we are talking about our lists of lets get Koulibaly or VVD or Keane. How do you think we can sway these types of players when they have the Chelseas or the Manchesters also breathing down their necks? I hate seeing when it mentions players that Everton is interested and then I see multiple articles of these other teams on the verge. What are the chances we get any of these high profile players this summer. European Football is enticing but these others teams are CL Football.

Sorry for the "complainy" sounding post, we had a pretty good last two windows and am hoping third time is the charm and we make some big splashes this summer

Guaranteed top flight games in a world cup year?

Its champions league money they want not champions league football. Koulibaly and VVD have already had Champions League football.

The "big" clubs can not buy everybody. They are big because they already have quality players.

People are also forgetting that the end of the day - nearly all of the clubs in the premiership are ran as a business first and foremost

Koulibaly, Manolas, VVD, Keane, Macguire, Gibson, Lindelof, Bonnuci, Godin

All been linked in the past month to one of the 'big 6' and a whole lot more as well than just those players.

In reality a lot of it is invented bs

Arsenal - will they spend big on another cb after doing that with Mustaffi and having Koschelny there already - not a chance they will do
Spurs - Don't need to buy a cb, they have good depth already
City - probably will buy one, and a big name at that, but the smart money says he will buy from abroad and will buy in an experienced one.
United - yup they need one, to cover for Rojos injury and possibly start ahead of him when fit again, yet again - Mourinho doesn't very often at all buy from England - he will go abroad again and how much they will spend when they apparently are after Griezman and need a up top striker as well is debatable
Chelsea - Constantly getting linked with all sorts of BIG name cb's - despite having the best defence in the league and a very good set of young cb's - maybe they will, maybe they won't, but they already have their ball playing centre back in Luiz, yet the papers seem intent on linking them with ball playing centre backs all the time.
rs, need a new cb for sure as the ones they have are gash, but they arent gonna be spending 40m + on one.

According to their fans/the media, Liverpool for example need the following, a new left back starter, a new cb starter, another defensive midfielder who can push Henderson, another player similar to Mane, a starting 20+ goal a season striker - and thats before getting into them wanting another keeper, additional depth etc.

Not going to happen, and the same can be said about every club up near the top, including us, we won't be able to bring in all those positions we need and will have to prioritise

Right now its the part of the season that people expect a quality known player they have heard of to come in to all those positions they reckon they need, the reality is that a lot of the signings will be players no one expected till they signed for the team.

Varane, Bonnucci, Laporte, they where the names getting linked to United when Mourinho took charge - they ended up buying Bailly for example.

Chelsea got linked to Koulibaly and Bonnucci etc, and ended up going for Luiz who PSG wanted rid of

City got linked with everyone and his dog and ended up with Stones and not this world class centre back they all thought he'd go for etc.

Simple fact is - all these managers will have budgets and most will not prioritise spending 40-50m on a centre back when they have other areas of the team that needs serious work on it

Well, I wouldn't be in for janssen either now ....both failed in the prem (so far).

I think it's a bit harsh to class someone as a failure when they haven't started a game let alone had a run of them.

I know some people will think if he was that good Conte would play him but it's not easy when you're competing with Costa\Hazard.

His record in France and Belgium is really good and he looks good in highlight videos, although yeah they can be deceptive.

I think there's going to be a level of risk with whoever we get in but I reckon he'd be a good signing if we can get a more proven player in as well, assuming Lukaku goes.
